Shoto ran around the corner in an attempt to hide from the overwhelming amount of blue flames that weren't letting up on him.
They were mercilessly burning down everything they managed to make contact with.
Shoto had no choice but to hide inside of a abandon building, giving him some time to properly examine his wounds while looking for any possibility to escape or to potentially hide from his attacker.
However he quickly gave up on any rational ideas due to him realizing the inevitable fact that he didn’t have a chance on surviving this.
Tears spilled from his eyes, his fingertips brushed along the burning patches scattered across his chest, the sobs echoing through the empty room.
Shoto bit his lip to stop himself from making anymore noises while he attempted to find a more sufficient place to hide.
Unfortunately he didn’t have the necessary time before the door was blown off its hinges, eyes solely focused on the tall black-haired male stepping inside the room, immediately noticing the smaller male quivering with fear.
The pro hero tried to use his ice to keep the villain as far as possible away from him, but failed drastically as Dabi melted every bit of the attack that was directed his way.
The villain didn’t show any sign of regret as he walked closer, smiling devilishly. "Hasn't your dear father taught you how to fight? Or was he incapable of training you properly as well?"
Shoto abruptly crashed onto the floor from the exhaustion soaring throughout his body.
However he managed to answer weakly, "You're the one to talk. You fight like you just discovered your quirk and want to spread chaos for your own fucking entertainment."
He scowls at the man while wiping at the blood smearing his eyesight.
The villain walked around him menacingly while laughing. “I don't remember you being this mean, Shoto Todoroki."
He trailed his fingers along the wall approaching Shoto who couldn’t seem to muster up the strength to use his quirk anymore, ultimately deciding to lay helplessly on the floor.
"Don't both on trying to escape. It's not worth it and you won't get away from me. One wrong move and I'll set your ass on fire."
He stared at the villain with pure anger and disgust, managing to hiss through clenched teeth. “Try me, you bastard."
He tried to stand up by pushing his weight upwards while holding onto a collapsed section of the wall.
But the last thing he managed to make out were the blue flames emitting his way, as everything around him turned black.
13 years earlier
Shoto slowly opened his eyes, looking at the ceiling with a blank expression.
He had been training constantly for weeks without any rest, he was more than anxious that his father may yell at him for slacking off.
Everyday he forced himself out of bed with aching legs and arms, scared that his father might hurt him or even his mother for his disobedience.
Shoto’s mother was always trying to protect her youngest child from the endless scoldings and beatings he received from his father.
Dismissing his irrational thoughts, he slinged his legs over bed and quickly put on his clothes in an attempt to escape the cold air surrounding him. He paused, hearing his siblings voices from outside.
"Why are Fuyumi and Natsuo up so early?" Mumbling underneath his breath he opened his bedroom door to walk outside.
As soon as he stepped outside he saw his older siblings chasing a little kitten, which was running around in the garden of his families, nearly tripping over it's own little paws.
The kitten had bright red fur and was prancing around cheerfully, bringing joy to the two little children.
Shoto giggled while looking around the garden, when he suddenly saw his oldest brother, Touya, sitting on a bench on the far side of the garden by himself, seemingly watching the sun slowly rise.
Shoto walked towards the elder boy, deciding to sit down beside him.
Leaning slightly onto Touya's shoulder, he hadn’t even noticed him yet.
Touya flinched and soon realized that the sudden weight is from the smaller boy who’s intently leaning against him peacefully and relaxed.
"Hey Champ, why are you up so early?" The older boy asked while absentmindedly stroking the others bicolored hair delicately.
Shoto looked down at his feet, whispering underneath his breath.
"Father still wants me to train my quirks more. Even though I don't want to. Why can't I just play with the others?"
Touya's expression darkened as he rubbed his eyes.
"Father is one stubborn man. He is trying to make you the strongest, because he is unable to be the strongest himself Shoto. His inability to be successful as a hero is painfully obvious, as well as his inability to be a good father."
Shoto closed his eyes and sighed before he inhaled the sweet aroma of his brother.
Somehow it always made him feel like he was loved and that somehow everything would be okay.
As long as he remained by his side.
Soon he felt two arms wrap around him and pull him closer to the others firm chest.
He was surprised to feel Touya's soft lips press against his forehead.
Everything was peaceful, when suddenly both flinched at the loud, deep voice of their father yelling at damn near everyone and everything presented in his path.
"SHOTO WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU? DO YOU WANT TO GET PUNISHED AGAIN?!"
The youngest of the children felt anxious yet again at the rough tone of voice and immediate jumped from his position on the bench, running as fast as he could to his father and looking shyly at the ground.
"I'm sorry father.... I d-didn't mean to be late-", the boy stuttered, but was interrupted by a direct hit against his head with even more yelling following the brace action.
"IF I SEE YOU NEAR THAT USELESS FUCK WHO DARES TO CALL HIMSELF MY SON AGAIN, YOU'LL RECEIVE MORE THAN JUST ONE HIT."
"....I'm sorry, father" Shoto said holding back his tears while trying to ignore the sharp pain radiating throughout his skull.
Immediately he was pulled away by his father, merely catching a glimpse of his brother who was slowly limping away, turning his back to both of them while balling his fist.
