Touya's Redemption

Chapter 7

He couldn't move a muscle anymore. Shoto heard the chilling screams of the civilians and commands of the support squad who were trying to get out as many people as possible.

Tears ran down his face as he searched for a familiar person he could ask help from, but the chaos was too grand and he was to weak to even lift a finger.

He turned over to the medic, trying to get their attention.

"My father and brother are still in the fire.. Please help them!"

The medic turned to the huge chaos and shook their head.

"I'm sorry there is now way to get them out of there. It would be suicidal to try to save them kid. I'm really sorry." The medic replied. "Let's get you to safety first."

He began to black out as he was rushed to the hospital, only hearing his mothers voice calling for him desperately.

"Father?" Shoto asked confused. "What do you mean?"

Endeavor had an indescribable expression on his face, which confused Shoto even further.

"Aww you don't remember me little brother? That's a shame. And here I thought that we could have a great little family reunion. Or maybe even some father- son bonding with dear old father."

"Touya... is that really you?" Endeavor said horrified. "But you were dead. You died that evening, didn't you?"

"Sadly no. But I honestly wish you better luck next time. Maybe you'll succeed in killing me then. Or would you like to torture me a little more? You're already familiar with that, so it shouldn't be a problem."

"I didn't want to-"

"I want to hear no excuses from you. I despise you father. I spent all those years of pain and helplessness only because of you. I won't forgive you."

Flames were suddenly bursting out of Touya's hands, surrounding Endeavour and Shoto completely.

Endeavor pulled Shoto behind him to protect him from the overbearing flames the villain emitted.

"Stay back! You're already injured. Get back and call for the medics, you can't fight in your state." Endeavor yelled as he pushed Shoto towards the exit of the hideout. "The medics should be here soon."

The villain laughed. "Say your goodbyes to your father, little Shoto. Because the next time you'll see him it'll be in a morgue. He won't leave this place breathing."

Shoto felt his heart drop, as he held onto his father. "I won't leave you like this. Let's just talk this over, we don't have to fight. We didn't even know that were still alive Touya. We can still be a family again."

Touya stared at Shoto confused, then started shaking from laughter. "We were never a family to begin with Shoto and we will never be one. If it was so easy for father to pretend that he was a great hero, he should fight like one. It's not like he's unfamiliar with fighting me. Right, father?"

Endeavor shook his head, as he remained in a defensive posture, to counter any attacks from Touya

"Leave right now Shoto or I'll kill you too. I want to remain merciful towards you too, even though you became a fucking hero just like him."

Shoto moved forward to stand beside his father pleading to the villain. "Touya. Please stop. None of us wanted to abandon you. I promise father has changed into a better man. You don't have to worry about anything, just please come back."

Touya stared at him expressionless, when his body started shaking from silent laughter.

"You mean to tell me that I should forgive and come back to the same exact man that ruined my entire life and forgive him just like that? After everything that happened?! Since when have you been this obedient and pathetic Shoto?"

"I'm not being obedient, Touya. It took a long time for me to be able to forgive him."

Sweat and tears ran down Shoto's face as the flames surrounding him and his father were getting closer and closer.

Endeavor clenched his fist. "Touya, I know that I made many mistakes in the past. I can't ask you to forgive me but I'm really sorry for what I did. But I won't let you hurt Shoto. This is between us two, don't involve him."

Suddenly the flames got more intense, making it nearly impossible to breathe or see anything.

"He also became a hero so he should deal with a villain when he encounters one, shouldn't he? That's what you trained him for. SO STOP TRYING TO NEGOTIATE AND FIGHT BACK!"

Endeavor directed a Flashfire Fist- Jet Burn towards Dabi, holding onto Shoto, as they were blasted towards the exit, where the medics were.

Shoto felt his stomach turn, when they crashed into a wall, startling the medics.

„Take him and rush to the hospital!" Endeavor yelled, as he held Shoto in his arms.

Shoto turned his face towards him. „What about you father?"

The medics were rushing towards them with a stroller.

„Don't worry. I'll hold Touya back. Just get to safety."

„But Touya is.." Shoto pleaded.

Endeavor turned away from Shoto, walking back to Touya. „I'll do my best to not harm Touya. But I can't promise anything. I'm sorry Shoto."

Shoto screamed for his father and Touya desperately, as he was pushed into an ambulance.

He opened his eyes and sat up groaning. When he looked at his surroundings he quickly recognized the hospital room he was in.

His head was throbbing from the many medications he was under. Shoto then tried to stand up, his legs giving up under his own weight.

The heart monitor flatlined, as Shoto started taking of all of the little cables attached to his body, when a nurse ran inside of his room panicked.

She then saw the young man sitting helplessly on the floor with dozens of cables surrounding him.

"Oh dear, thank god you're alright sir. Let me help you up and then I'll get the doctor right away."

She grabbed Shoto's arm and placed it around her shoulders, quickly laying him down on his bed and putting a cover over his legs.

"Just one moment, I'll be right back."

Shoto nodded and stared at the wall quietly, when a knock on the door startled him.

"Hey, Sho. How are you feeling buddy?"

"Hey Natsuo. Fine I guess. Where is everyone?"

Natsuo brushed off his question and smiled at him. "Are you hungry? Do you want me to grab you anything? I can sneak in some fast food if I'm lucky."

Shoto looked at him confused. "Natsuo. Where is everyone? Are they okay?"

Natsuo took a deep breath and held his brothers hand tightly.

"It's Touya..."
