Hibari's POV

Unconscious bodies lay littered all around him. The raven haired male that's so close to Elizabeth. Levi, Elizabeth told me is his name.

He kneels besides her unconscious and bleeding body and picks it up bridal style, walking past us. Erwin's gaze follow behind him and I see something that's never been there before, well according to what my sister told me...

Curiosity...

"Thank you for bringing this into my attention, cadet. I will take care of it. You may leave." He says and I salute. I quickly drop it and walk back into the building.

As I walk in, someone grabs my hands and pulls me into a room. When I manage to get my balance back, I look at the person and see a head of reddish brown hair in a messy ponytail and brown eyes that are covered by glasses. "Hanji?!" I exclaim, looking at her wide eyed. "Yup. The one and only." She says with a huge grin on her face. I tackle her in a hug and she laughs. "Nice to see you too, baby sis." She says as she hugs me back. "So, how did it go with miss Shorty?" She asks as she lets me go. "Miss Shorty?" I ask with a brow raised. "Elizabeth." She says and I look at her with wide eyes. "Won't she be mad?" I ask and she shakes her head. "Nah. I already call her that and she doesn't seem to mind... Sort of..." She says and fixes her glasses.

~Time Skip~

Elizabeth's POV

I slowly open my eyes and sit up, looking down at my legs, only to see them covered by a blanket. I look around the room and find out that I'm in the HQ's infirmary. I hear a small groan and movement from my right and look.

Levi's asleep on the chair next to the bed that I'm on. I reach towards him and gently shake him awake. He rubs the sleep out of his eyes and looks at me. "Levi..." I whisper. "What happened?" He sits up and looks at me. "Those idiots from before, the ones from the training camp, they snuck into the stables and tried to..." He stops and looks down. "Levi." I say in a low voice. "What did they do?" I ask sternly. He stands up and walks towards the left side of the bed, grabbing a mirror and handing it to me.

The sight that I'm met with leaves me dumbfounded. I slowly reach a shaking hand towards the top of my left eye and touch it. "W-what happened...?"

"They re-opened the wound that was given to you when we were first captured." He says and sits next to me on the bed. "They tried to cut the eye out. I managed to get there before they knocked you out." He finishes and I look away from him.

Hanji's POV

After my conversation with Hibari, I walk towards the infirmary to check on Elizabeth's eye.
When I arrive at the room, I start to hear talking from inside and look through the small crack between the door and the door frame. "Levi, wait!" Elizabeth exclaims, grabbing Levi's wrist and looking down at her lap. "Stay with me..."

I smile slightly and step back, turning around. Right in front of me stood a tall man with blonde hair and bushy eyebrows. "Hiya, Erwin!" I say with a wave. "How is she?" He asks and I shrug. "I haven't checked. She was talking with Levi and I didn't want to interrupt." I say and turn back towards the door and looking through the small crack again, seeing Levi laying in the bed next to her, while Elizabeth lays her head on his chest. He passes his hand through her hair and she closes her eyes.

Erwin looks through the small space and frowns slightly. He walks back and I look at him. "Is there something wrong?" I ask, with a look of confusion. "Those two..." He begins, shaking his head. "I feel bad for her... She's just a kid..."

"Yeah, but she's stronger than she leads on." I say and look back at the infirmary. "She'll do just fine on the expedition tomorrow," I smirk and look back at him. "Commander."

~Time Skip~

Elizabeth's POV

The next morning, I open my eyes, but realize that I can't really see anything from my left eye. "They had to cover it." A female voice says and my head snaps towards it. "It might have gotten infected." Hanji finishes. I look around, noticing a certain raven haired male was missing. "Where's Levi?" I ask her. "He went to get ready for the expedition." She says and I sigh. "The nurse said that you may leave. You should go and get yourself ready." She finishes and I nod, standing up and walking out of the infirmary, towards the barracks. 

On the way, I bump into Atsushi and Hibari. "Where are you going?" Hibari asks. "To an expedition." I sigh, walking past them.

After a few minutes, I arrive to the dorm I share and walk in, taking a clean uniform and walking to the bathroom. I change and walk back to the dorm, throwing the dirty uniform on my bed and walking back to the Mess Hall.

I walk in and take my food, walking towards the table that Levi is sitting on and sit next to him. I just stare at my food for a few minutes, not really hungry. I feel a tap on my back and turn around, seeing Hanji. She gives me a small grin and I sigh, already knowing which squad I'm meant to be on.

I give Levi one last look, before standing up and following Hanji outside, where the rest of my squad is. "Alright!" Hanji says happily. "As some of you already know, we have a few changes in staff." I look at her with a brow raised. "Section commander Erwin is no longer a 'Section commander'. Commander Shadis has retired, so that means that Erwin is the new Commander." She says and I go wide eyed.
