Levi's POV

Elizabeth leaves with Hanji and everyone else on the table turns towards me. "What?" I ask monotonously. They all shake their heads and go back to eating, a few of them standing up and walking out of the mess hall, looking for their Squad Leaders.

When I'm the only one left on the table, I sigh and stand up, taking the empty plates to the kitchen.

I walk outside and walk towards the squad that I was placed in, passing next to Elizabeth in the process. "Don't die." I whisper without looking at her. "Not planning on it." She whispers back, looking straight at the new commander.

Elizabeth's POV

Levi walks past me and towards his squad, where his horse is waiting for him.

After a few minutes, a cadet holding a completely black horse walks towards Hanji and hands her the rope tying the horse. She nods at the cadet and he walks back towards Erwin, getting on a brown horse. Hanji walks towards me, with a huge grin in her face, and hands me the rope and a green cape with a blue and white wing. "Thanks." I mutter and she nods, walking back towards her own horse.

I pet the horse's forehead and he nudges me, making a small smile make its way to my face. "You should be rewarded for not being human." I say while petting the horse. 

I walk to its side and jump on, looking at Erwin for his orders.

~Time Skip~

After a few minutes, we arrive at the wall's gates and wait for the to open. As we wait, the towns' people stop what they're doing and form a crowd around all the soldiers. They all start whispering and I try to ignore them, but a certain pair of children looking at us catch my attention. I look at them and their eyes start sparkling with excitement. The small boy whispers something along the lines of 'I wanna be just like then when I grow up!' to the little girl, who smiles widely. I take a deep breath and look back forwards, seeing as the gate slowly starts to open. I exhale and notice a certain pair of brown eyes looking at me, but when I look at her she looks away. "STARTING NOW," Erwin shouts. "THE TWENTY-FOURTH RECON CORPS EXPEDITION BEGINS!" The gate finishes opening. "MOVE OUT!" 

I lightly pull on the horse's reins and he starts to gallop. As everyone starts moving faster, I make the horse go faster, catching up to Levi and riding next to him. The wind blows at my cape and I look straight ahead.

As we all start to emerge from the other side of the wall, I look up at the sky and see that everything is much brighter. "Wow..." I mutter, looking around at all the free birds and trees that are everywhere. "Amazing, isn't it?" Levi asks and I look at him, nodding. Levi gives me a small smile and speeds up, just as Erwin commands us to commence formation. 

I fall back, waiting for the rest of my squad members.

Not even five minutes later, a red flare is shot. I look at it, then at Hanji. "Hanji!" I shout over the wind. "It's right next to us!" Another soldier shouts. She looks at me and nods. I nod back, already knowing what she wants me to do.

I take out the flare gun and load a red flare, shooting it and letting the nearest squad know where the titan is. We stay in our formation, until the red flares stop, being replaced by a green one from Erwin. Hanji turns left and we all follow her.

~Time Skip~

After about an hour, we reach a forest full of giant trees and stop, getting off the horses. "Hanji, shouldn't we get somewhere the titan's won't get us...?" One of the other cadets asks as I pet my horse's snout. I roll my eyes and, before Hanji says anything, pull the left trigger of my gear, shooting a wire and maneuver my way to a high branch. "Idiot..." I mutter and look forwards, seeing more squads making their way inside the forest. "More squads headed this way!" I shout to Hanji, looking down at her. She nods and makes her way to the tree across from mine.

Hanji's POV

I make my way to a branch on the tree across from Elizabeth and smirk. This girl would make an amazing Squad Leader. I think as she looks at the other squads making their way into the forest. "Hanji!" She shouts as the ground starts shaking. I look at her and see her taking out her swords. "It's an abnormal!" She stands in a fighting stance and looks at me. "Your orders?!"

I nod at her, motioning to go. "Take care of it!" I shout, wanting to see her in action. She's even more interesting than that abnormal!

She jumps from the tree and gets on her horse, speeding towards the abnormal following Flagon's squad. I smirk and jump from the tree, standing next to the rest of my squad.

Oh how surprised clean freak is going to be when he sees who saved him...

Levi's POV

A horse zooms past me and I look back, seeing a certain redhead standing on the saddle of her horse and shoot her wires at the abnormal titan behind us. "Elizabeth!" I shout. "Don't you even dare get close to that thing!" She ignores me and boosts herself to the titan's nape, positioning her blades and speeding up, spinning and cutting the nape, killing the abnormal with ease.

She lands back on her horse and rides next to me. I look at her wide eyed and she smirks. "Impressed?" She asks, looking at me. I smirk back and look forwards. "You never cease to amaze me." I say and the ground starts shaking again. "Magnolia, Ackerman!" Flagon screams and we both look at each other, smirking. "Attack the beast!" We stand on the saddle, turn around and shoot the wires towards the titan. We both jump and maneuver our way to the titan, as fast as possible.

"For humanity!"

AND I HAVE ALSO FINISHED EDITING XD Anyway, any thoughts? I found old drafts of the sequel I was working on for this, so I'll see if university gives me a break and I manage to fix and finish that, lol
