Chapter 3

Levi's POV

Once we get back underground, we walk to our home and put on our gears. We walk out of the house and start walking through alley ways. "We've got confirmation on Jan." Farlan begins. "He's in a first rate hospital."

"The identity of the man is also confirmed." Elizabeth adds in. "This job is a real thing. We gonna do it, Levi?"

~Flashback~

We all start to walk back down the stairs. "I'll tell you this one thing..." We all stop and look at him. "Regardless of whether you accept this job or not, the target will still make contact. In other words, you can't remain unrelated in this matter."

~Flashback End~

We turn a corner and keep walking. "Bro.." Isabel says. "Carry on as normal. But if, they appear just like he said they would... We'll start the job." I say as I jump off a small wall.

~Time Skip~

Elizabeth's POV

We start running and shoot our wires. Levi, Farlan and Isabel pass the sides and top of a bunch of boxes, while I just knock them over. I retract my wires and shoot them again, hearing the other three doing the same. "Yahoo!" Isabel cheers as she catches up to us. "Levi! They're here! The pursuers." Farlan announces. We look back and see three Military Policemen following us. "Heh. The Military Police again? Haven't learned their lesson, have they?" Isabel says and looks at Levi. "Hey, Levi-bro! What I just said was a cool line, right?"

"Are you an idiot?" Levi and me ask at the same time. I retract my wires, shoot them again and push myself forwards, doing a front flip in the process. The Military Police get tangled together and crash on a nearby building. Levi messes with his trigger and shoots his wires to a wall, moving back and I do the same, seeing something weird in the people following us. "Those movements... They're not the Military Police!" Farlan exclaims. "Yeah. No mistake." Levi says. "It's them." I state. "That Wings of Freedom crest... It's the Survey Corps!"

I look back and notice Farlan and Isabel looking at them. "Heh. As people who battle Titan's they're as different as expected." Farlan says. "You guys..." Levi says, gaining our attention. "You know, right?"

"Of course." Isabel says.

"It's the job, right?" Farlan asks.

"They walked right into our hands." I say smirking. Isabel and Farlan retract their wires, shooting them each in a different direction, while I stay with Levi, waiting for my cue.

A few seconds later, Levi nods at me and I nod back, retracting my wires and taking a left, while he takes a right.

'Let's see how good the Survey Corps really is!' I smirk and pass through an open window. I run through the room and jump out of another side, shooting my wires and barely dodging a Survey Corps member. I gasp, move closer to a building and jump, using it as a boost.

Levi's POV

I look around and see Farlan and Isabel being held my two members. Isabel keeps struggling, while Farlan just stays calm. I let go of my knife and the blonde headed man in front of me lets me go, lowering his sword. "You're quick at reading the situation." I glare at him and they cuff us up, taking our gear off. "I'll ask a few questions." He lift one of the triggers from the 3DMG. "Where did you get this?"

Silence...

"You guys are skilled with 3D Maneuver Gear. Who taught you all that?"

Silence...

He lowers the trigger and walks towards me. "You're their leader, right? Weren't there four of you?" Just as he said that, another member walks towards us and drops an unconscious and bleeding Elizabeth next to me. "What did you do to her?!" Isabel and Farlan exclaim as I just glare at the brown haired soldier. "Were you trained in the military?" Eyebrows asks. I turn my glare towards him and, suddenly, my head gets shoved into a dirty puddle.

Isabel's POV

The blonde guy grabs Levi's head and shoves it into a puddle. "You-!" I gasp. Levi turns his head and glares at the man. "I'll ask one more time." The man in front of us starts. "Where did you learn to use 3D Maneuver Gear?"

"Not from anyone!" Farlan shouts. "We learnt it by ourselves!"

"Self-taught, you say?" He says, mostly to himself. "I don't buy it."

"It's just so we're able to rise even a bit in this dirty garbage place! People who're used to sunlight like you guys won't understand!" Farlan argues. "That's enough! Let Bro go! Don't be cocky just because you're soldiers!" I shout at him. He looks at Levi and the guy holding his head pulls him out. The guy kneels down in front of Levi. "My name is Erwin Smith. And yours is?" Erwin introduces. "Levi." Levi simply states. "Levi... Why don't we make a deal?"

"A deal?"

"I will let your crimes go unpunished. In return, lend me your strength. Join the Survey Corps." He says.

"L-levi..." A quiet whisper sounds next to him. I look and see Elizabeth slowly trying to get up with one hand and holding her left eye with the other. When she gets on a kneeling position, she moves her hand from her eye, revealing a cut from the top of her eye, all the way to her cheekbone. She glares at the soldier that brought her here and lets herself be handcuffed and stripped off her gear. Levi looks at Elizabeth, then at Erwin. "And if I refuse?" He asks. "The Military Police will have you." Erwin states. "Considering all of your crimes, you and your friends," He turns around and starts to walk away. "won't be treated very nicely." He stops and turns towards us. "Choose whichever you prefer."

We all look at Levi and he looks directly at Erwin. "Fine." He says and we gasp. He flicks some of the water from his face. 

"I'll join the Survey Corps."
