I stepped outside of the gala, into the street where I saw Cain's van speed away. I heard everyone pour out of the gala behind me, and then some security personnel rushing out to my sides. I always liked when they snapped to attention, especially when they're there to protect me.

"Ma'am, we are ready to deploy our helicopters and ground racers to follow them. They won't get far, we'll have them in seconds." Said an officer to my right. I never even looked at him.

"No, that's quite alright. There's no need to apprehend them now."

The guard was stunned. "Excuse me, ma'am? I'm not sure I understand."

"I guess you deserve to know as much as anyone. You are a guard of mine, after all." I saw the van continue to drive in the distance, until it went into the darkness of the night with a fog following them. I kept staring. "I knew that the idol we had would lead us to the next step to find the temple. But there was only one problem. I didn't know what they clue meant. However, I knew someone who might know. He is as smart as I am, dare I say smarter. If there was anyone who could figure out where to go next, it would be Cain." I heard the crowd start to go inside the mansion again to continue the festivities. I kept staring into the void. "I let word slip to one of Cain's very few friends, Jazzy, that the idol was here at a gala. Of course, this was after they took off a chunk of my building. I was originally going to dissect them and try to gain their power, hopefully to gain their knowledge. It's fabled that the temple can only be found by a Summoner, and since I am not one, I need to figure out how to unlock the power of one." I heard some of the other security go back into the gala, leaving me and the lonesome guard. "Of course, I would never become one. They are vile, disgusting creatures. However, they are not without use. Cain is the most powerful Zapper, if not Summoner I have ever discovered. Cain is the key to finding the temple, whether he knows it or not. And it is my job to use him to find the temple." I finally turned to the guard. "Prepare my car. I have a feeling that it's going to be a long ride, so get the comfy one with extra refreshments."

"Yes, ma'am. At once." He started to turn away.

"Take your time, we are in no rush. I can track Cain with a transmitter device I planted on his van. We'll give him a day so they can feel like they're not being followed. Lull them into a false sense of hope, ya know?"

"Of course, ma'am. I'll let the staff know at once."

"Thank you, Reginald." He turned to leave, leaving me alone in the mist. The sun was rising at this point. It was a fabulous orange and purple.

I couldn't shake the horror of that thing that attacked me. It looked like a man with bright purple eyes, covered in shadows that appeared to vaporize off of him. And the voice confirmed he was a man, and he was right. I would remember him for as long as I lived, as the Summoner of Death, the Summoner who proves that I was right. That Summoners couldn't be trusted to do anything right. They were rebellious, destructive, and deadly. No matter what, they must be eliminated at all costs.

But there was another feeling I couldn't shake. The fact that Cain had allies. I didn't count on those misfits to band together like that. I assumed that they would kill each other before they worked together. I guess this was one of the few instances that I was wrong.

Cain Adams, Jack Wellington, Bruce Williams, Cece Mucini, Nocturnus, and Jazzy. They would be my greatest foes, and my greatest challenge. "I'll keep you six alive, just so I can dissect you. For pleasure."
