Memory Lane

(Third POV)

Spencer and Coop knocked on Hope's grandma's door waiting for Hope to appear so they could go to Crenshaw high school. As predicted Hope came out of her grandma's house dressed in light wash denim jeans, a white tube top, and some white dirty vans. Hope took notice at a Coop rushed over to give her a huge hug

"It's been a long time baby girl."Coop said

"Too long."Hope said hugging Coop together

The to let go of each other with Spencer standing there with his hands shoved n his pockets.

"So to of my best friends made it to Beverly Hills crazy shit."Coop said

Spencer and Hope laughed at Coop's comment as the walked to Crenshaw Highschool to see Spencer's old teammates and friends.As the trio made it to the high school they made conversation,cracking some jokes until Coop mentioned the fact that Hope hasn't been in Crenshaw in a while.

"So Hope why haven't you visited Crenshaw in like a year."Coop said

"Coop."Spencer sad harshly

"It's fine Spencer."Hope said with a pause

"It's just hard going back to the neighborhood where your dad died in you know."Hope said sadly

"I'm sorry baby girl."Coop said sadly

"Don't worry about I need to stop being sad girl some time."Hope said with a smile

"At least the three of us are together again."Coop said grabbing Spencer and Hope in a hug

The three laughed and continued there journey to the high school. When the finally made it to the high school they went over to the football field and sat at the bleachers looking at all the players.

Hope sighed to herself silently seeing her ex-boyfriend Cameron Wilson on the field. Hope knew he was a good football player but he wasn't the greatest boyfriend to hope. Hope shook off her thoughts and listened to Spencers and Coop's conversation .

"So what, y'all never made fun of each other when y'all messed up here?"Coop said

"It ain't just the whack memes or the hazing Spencer said pausing before saying They don't accept me."Spencer said

"I mean, man, acceptance goes both ways, though,You got to be honest."Coop said

"It' Ain't like you been all open arms."Hope said

"Yeah, OK, Iyanlas."Spencer laughed

" Man, shut up."Spencer laughed

"You know the fact you lecture me on honesty and acceptance is hilarious, right?"Spencer laughed

"What are you trying to say?Coop asked

"You finally been honest with your parents and told them you gay?"Spencer said

"You still haven't told?"Hope asked

" I mean, listen, have they not met me? How can I be anything else? Seriously, I'm not responsible for their blindness."Coop said before pausing and saying But nice try, though, bro.We ain't done talking about you.

"Man, were you always this talkative? "Spencer laughed

"All I'm saying is, man, physically, you with Beverly, but in your heart, you're with a whole 'another team."Coop said

"You think the rich boys don't realize you still rocking your South Crenshaw football ring? "Coop said

"Shes right Spencer."hope said with soft eyes

"And if Iyanla was here, she'd probably tell you, "child, listen."Coop said laughing

" Don't you dare."Spencer laughed

"Can't be accepted on one team till you let go of the other."Coop said

" Man, I just came to see some old friends, OK?"Spener said

"Mm-hmm and peep your new replacement."Coop said pointing out Cameron aka Hopes ex

"Yeah, maybe that, too."Spencer laughed

"Yeah, I know that, too."Coop laughed

"You ain't slick."Coop laughed

"I'm slicker than you."Spencer laughed

Come on let's go down there Spencer said getting off the bleachers Coop and Hope followed Spencer down the bleachers to see Chris notice the trio coming down with a smile on his face

"Man, look who back slumming it in the 'hood."Chris said with a big smile

"Hey, what up, fellas? Y'all miss me? "

"What's up, boy?" Chris said doing a bro handshake with Spencer

"Looks like you brought an old face to."Chris said referring to Hope

"It's good to see you at Chris."Hope said bringing Chris into a hug

"Good to see you Hope." Chris said with a smile

"You to Chris."Hope said with a smile

"Why don't you two catch up I'm gonna say hi to Coach Jason."Hope said walking over to coach Jason

Hope approached coach Jason with a smile on her face as she grew nearer to the coach, he took notice and took off his sunglasses to get a better look at the figure growing nearer to her. When Coach Jason saw it was Hope his face grew big with a smile

"Well if it isn't Hope Davis."Coach Jason said with a big smile

"In the flesh."Hope said with a smile

"Come here girl."Coach Jason said bringing Hope into a hug

"How have you been."Coach Jason asked.

"I've been better a little weird being here after everything happened."Hope said sadly

"I know but your daddy would be proud of you being here."Coach Jason said with a smile

"I know."Hope said

"So what brings you here."Coach Jason said

"Just time for me to back in my hometown."Hope laughed

"That's good we missed a familiar face around here."Coach Jason said

"Thanks to the nice talk Coach but I have to go."Hope said sadly

"No worries it was good seeing you.'Coach Jason said with a smile

After the talk with Coach Jason she made her walk back to Chris, Coop, and Spencer.

"Hey, y'all called up Cameron Wilson to replace me, huh?"Spencer laughed

"Yeah had to call up my ex-boyfriend."Hope said crossing her arms around her chest

"Nothing personal Hope but Hey, at least brother's willing to rock a South Crenshaw Jersey."Chris sad

"Oh, it's like that?"Spencer laughed

" It's like that, dawg."Chris laughed putting back his helmet

"OK."Spencer said

"I'll check you at the cookout, though."Chris said

" bet."Spencer said watching Chris go back onto the field

Hope nudged Spencer lightly "Hey let's get back help your mom with the cookout."Hope said

Spencer nodded in response as the trio walked back to Spencer's house preparing to help Spencer's mom.
