“I am so proud of you.” My mum said as she wrapped her arms around me with tears of joy falling from her face.
“Thanks mum.” I told her, hugging her back.
"You were just performed on TV to millions of people, you know that right?” My mum said, still crying.
“I know, Katie said that the Today show is one of the biggest news shows in America.”
“And you were on it.”
“So were you!” I said and laughed, remembering when I told the interviewer she was in the audience and they put the cameras toward her as she jumped and screamed just like all of the teenage fans in the crowd.
She sighed and smiled at me, “I’m going to go meet your aunt and cousins for lunch, you should get a little bit of rest before you have to go to the signing later.” She said, being the caring mother she always had been.
“Okay sounds good, I have been up since like 3.”
“Okay see you later hun, get some sleep.” She said as she kissed my cheek and left the hotel room.
We had been in America for a few weeks now, first we went on tour with Big Time Rush, and now we were beginning to do a lot of promotion and signings so that we could get more people to know who we were and buy our music.
Everything was going so fast, I still couldn’t believe how many people had been at the concerts just for us, when we were just the opening act.
And we had just performed on the Today show to a live audience of TEN THOUSAND people. Ten thousand people had waited for hours, some even waited for days, just to see us perform a few songs and be interviewed. That was absolutely insane. And then there were also millions of people watching it on TV.
And our album was debuting in the US tomorrow. An album with my face on it, and containing my vocals, would be sold all over North America. Some people were even predicting it to hit the Top 10 in the next week.
How did I get to be so lucky?
It had all started with that one day in Dublin, a day that changed my life. It was too bad that so many of my memories from that day were a blur now, it was just such an emotional and stressful day that the whole thing feels like a dream. It was an amazing dream though.
A FEW HOURS LATER AT THE ONE DIRECTION CD SIGNING
Niall Horan, Niall Horan, Niall Horan, Niall Horan, Niall Horan.
I signed one CD after another.
Each CD was the same, but each fan was not. That was something I loved about signings, all these fans had been planning for so long what they wanted to say to me and the rest of the boys, and their time had finally come.
I loved saying stuff back to them though, cause the smiles on their faces just showed how much this meant to them, and how much you meant to them.
“Niall! I’m Irish too!” A girl in front of me said enthusiastically as I signed her CD.
“Then you’re awesome!” I said smiling and giving her a high five, which resulted in an even bigger smile on her face, before security quickly pushed her away, keeping the line moving.
“Hi Niall! How was performing on the Today Show? You guys did incredible!” Another fan said to me.
“It was amazing, absolutely amazing, and you guys are the reason that we get to do those type of things.” I told her, making her almost squeal out of pure happiness.
"I love your hat, Niall!” The next fan said as she replaced the other fan in the spot in front of me.
“Thanks! I love your shirt!” I said jokingly seeing that she had a shirt with a huge picture of Liam’s face on it.
