"Lisa! Hurry up!" I rolled my eyes but quickly headed down

"Coming!" I yelled.

"What took you so long?" Mom scolded

"I was just charging my phone."

"No phones on school days!" Dad scolded

"I know." I sighed.

I rang the doorbell next door and a woman probably on her forties opened it.

"Good evening!" I greeted with a smile

"Can I help you?" She smiled politely

"Oh, we're from next door. We're the manobans. This is our only daughter, lisa. I'm baifern, but you can call me fern. And this is my husband, mario."
Mom introduced us

"We just came to give this freshly baked cheesecake that I made, to welcome you in our neighborhood." She accepted mom's gift

"You didn't have to. Thank you, come on in." She opened the door widely and let us in. We politely bowed and let ourselves in, taking off our slippers and she provided two pairs of house slippers.

"I'm sorry, we only have two spares."

"It's alright.." I faltered, not knowing what to call her

"Mrs. Kim. You can call me mrs. Kim." I nodded

"It's alright mrs. Kim. Mom and dad can have it." She them lead us to their dining area, for us to share my mom's baked goodies.

"Are you alone?" Mom asked

"Oh no, my kids are upstairs."

"I heard your eldest goes to the same school as lisa here. She can show him around school." I was startled, but quickly masked it with a smile

"Really? That would be lovely. We're new around this area but tae knows his way cause his friends live in the same subdivision. Wait, let me just call him." She excused herself and went to the bottom of the stairs. Their house is identical to ours but on the opposite direction.

"Taehyung-ah! Come down here. We have guests. They brought cake." She chuckled and soon we hear kids yelling

"Caaaakee!" My mom squealed at the sight

"These are my twins, yunhyeong and chanwoo. They are three years old." They bowed and greeted us. My mom immediately pampered them

"I'm sorry. It's just we tried so hard to give lisa siblings but we couldn't." Mom sadly frowned

"Oh no, don't worry about it. I'll let them visit you often." My mom clapped in glee and my dad smiled warmly at her. I could already see her buying stuff for them

"Yah! I told you not to make some noise and you just had to wake moonbyul up!" What a sight. The notorious bad boy in school, wearing the apple-hair, carrying a baby.

"Taehyung, lower your voice!" and he pouted. Cooing his sister, not seeing me nor my parents. I smirked.

"They scared moonbyu-" his eyes widened when he saw me

"Hello V-ssi." I smiled broadly and waved my hand.

"Oh, you already know each other?" His mom smiled

"Yeah. I didn't recognize his name when you called him. He introduced himself as V." His mom nodded in understanding.

"Ah, that's what his childhood friends call him. It became his nickname."

"Taehyung-ah, don't be rude." He blinked and looked at his mom.

"Ah, yeh. Annyeonghaseyo." He bowed politely. No signs of being a problematic child.

"Awwee can I hold her?" Mom cooed at the sight of a baby.

"Yes, sure." He passed his sister to my mom.

"Wow, she's not fuzzy. Lucky you. Lisa's our only child but boy she could throw such a fit when she was about this age" dad chuckled and they cooed the baby

"Tae, why don't you go keep lisa company while I'll prepare the table." I stood up smiling and v rubbed the back of his nape.

"Mrs. Kim I would just like to clear up something..." V snapped his head towards me. My parents are too busy with the kids to listen in.

"I heard an alarming rumor about v here having a criminal record?" She laughed and held my hand

"Aigoo, don't worry about tae here. He's a cry baby-"

"Eommaaa~" he whined, pouting. I held back my laughter

"And about that, it's the other way around. Taehyung was the one who put the robber behind bars. They were robbing our neighbor on our previous house, good thing tae and his friends were up late that night, they were busy looking for stray animals to put it on a shelter." She chuckled

"Eommaaa~ she doesn't have to know that!" I was startled when V grabbed my wrist and lead me upstairs

"Remember to just open the door!" Lisa giggled and V turned red

"I know! We're not gonna do something wrong!" He yelled back.

"Sorry about that." He let go of my wrist and looked down

"Animal advocate huh?" He pouted and I laughed, sitting down his bed. I looked out the window and I can see my bedroom.

"You should place thick curtains to block the sunlight." I casually traced my fingers on his thin curtains.

"Ani. I like to watch the night out. And I love it when the suns rays hits my skin. It feels so warm." He closed his eyes like he's feeling the sun and smiled.

"The school's bad boy is actually a softie. What a schocker." I leaned back and used my hands as support as I roamed my eyes on his room.

"Glow in the dark stars." I smirked, looking up to his ceiling. His room is more feminine than mine.

"Please keep this to yourself." He sighed and sat down on an office chair.

"Why? It might ruin your reputation? Oh wait, that's already ruined. Why not fix it?" I tilted my head

"It was annoying at first. Getting misunderstood. But we got the hang of it and think it's actually better to be thought of it that way. Boys are scared thinking we actually kill and girls... why do girls throw themselves at us? Ah, for the trophy of being the one who change us for the better?" He raised a brow

"But you don't need changing, cause it's all just people's judgement getting the best of themselves." I grin.

"Maybe people are wrong about you too." I stiffened. I let my guard down, I was too comfortable with him.

"How so?" He shrugged

"The way you talk with me right now is different from how you talk downstairs or at school." His mom called and he left. I followed shortly. I need to be careful around him. My mask is breaking.
