Chapter 5

"Don't come home too late tae, you still have class tomorrow." Mom glared but lets me go out anyway.

"I know. Don't worry, I'll be back soon." I kissed her cheeks and went out. I looked up at lisa's room in wonder.

"What are you looking up for?" I turned to see chanyeol smirking

"Nothing. Where do we go?" I asked, walking towards them, kai driving the car.

"We're going out of town tonight." I put my hands on my pocket and wait for kai to elaborate

"You know my cousin minzy right?" We nodded

"What about her?" Yoongi asked, puffing his vape. He doesn't really smoke but when he found out about vape, he went for it. Liking the flavors, and we don't mind inhaling his secondhand smoke unlike the smoke from cigarettes. I can't stand the smell of it.

"She told me there's a lot of strays there and some gang of sort sometimes torture some of those animals and even kills them." His hands gripling the steering wheel tightly and clenched my fists. Yoongi also stopped with his vape and immediately climbed to kai's car.

"What are you waiting for? Those jerks might already be beating those harmless beings. Let's go!" And this is how we end up with bruises. Rumors circulating about us being gang members eventhough we're not and we're just protecting those homeless furbabies.

We are all childhood friends. Yoongi and I used to be neighbors and we saw kai protecting his dog from bullies. We ran to help him. He was friends with chanyeol and that's the beginning of our friendship. We've been taking in homeless animals to shelters ever since we learned about them.

It was in highschool when we started patrolling every night to find strays and make sure they're alright. We get some fights because of it sometimes too. Some people are just really evil. We fight alright but not much, that's why we get bruises everytime, not because we reign among gangs and take in 1 vs 5 like the rumors spreading about us. We're just thankful no one is brave enough to chaenge us at school or else we'll be exposed. We don't like violence, we're only fighting back to defend not ourselves, but the animals.

"Any information about the gang we'll be facing? Cause I don't know if you noticed, we're not actually good fighters." We laughed at chanyeol's words but it's true.

"I don't really know. But they kill kittens infront of the mom! How could they do that?" Anger bubbled up inside me and I know I'm not the only one affected.

"Then we need to prepare ourselves. Those guys are trained psychopaths." Yoongi spat the last word in disgust.

"We're almost there." We've been traveling about an hour now.

"Is no one protecting the strays there?" Kai shrugged

"I don't know but I hear there's a girl gang that stops riot among gangs and the place becomes peaceful beacuse of it. But they don't do it every time though."

"A girl gang huh?" Yoongi looked out the window as we start to see the city lights.

"I know right? Those girls might fight better than us. If only we could contact them for back up." We chuckled at the thought

"Man, if our classmates heard you they might bully us."

"Good thing we have bad reputation, aye?" Yoongi smirked

"Nah, you just have a natural scary face." I teased

"Says someone who don't." He fired back

"I'm handsome!" I yelled

"Who said so?" He cocked a brow

"My mom did." I smiled and batted my eyelash at him, making him laugh.

"Oh, I see seungjae." Kai parked the car next to our new found friends

"What took you guys so long?" Jimin asked

"V here had a lovely meeting with his new neighbors." I held out a peace sign and the guys chuckled.

"Tell me again why you can't do this alone?"

"They're large in numbers. Besides, we always come to your town too. I thought our collaboration is fixed?" Suho raised a brow

"We're just kidding. Why won't you lead the way?"

"Thought you'd never ask." Hanbin smirked and seungjae tossed the keys to him.

"Remind me why we're not calling the police for this though?" Chanyeol asked

"Cause they don't care about animals. They only care about those acting like animals so a riot is needed for them to actually care." Kyungsoo rolled his eyes. He has always been against the police or anything that has something to so about the law, saying it's fucked up in alot of ways

We hopped on to the car and tailed seungjae and suho's cars. We parked it just right outside the alley in case of emergencies.

"Wait! Chill. We'll get there." Kai and hanbin stopped any of us from charging.

"Can't you hear that? The ppor animals are crying!" Suga hissed

"I can hear it! I can also hear bats swinging." Hanbin clenched his jaw. He's right.

"You guys confront, distract them and we'll appear from the back." Kyungsoo suggested and we nodded. We really don't plan thoroughly and just attack. We're battling with time after all, lives are at stake. Animal's lives matters.

We did as told and we successfully diverted their attention, however, we didn't expect them to outnumber us. We didn't care though, seeing a lifeless pup was enough to make our blood boil.

Bruises and cuts was worth the pain for these puppies. How dare them cage the parents and let them wat h hiw they torture the kids. We fought back with everything we got which is not much, that is why we're all now seated in front of the puppies, faces bruised, hands blooded fro. Fist fight.

"Stop torturing these stray dogs! They have done nothing wrong!" I yelled. But the jerks just laughed and spit on us.

"Try saving this." He swung the bat on a puppy and suga dove to it. We watched in horror as the bat almost hit him when a hand stopped. Long purplish-pink hair cascading her back is the only thing we can see.

"Not so fast. Don't try hitting a kitty." Her voice held authority. Our brows furrowed. There's no cat here tonight though.
