I wonder what would happen, moving into a new house with people you just met. I mean, I have lived in about seven foster homes in the past and it wasn't the best and I don't think this time will be any different. But now I can't help to wonder what will happen this time with my "new family"

I'm not going to lie I'm a bit terrified, I'm going to be eighteen in two years, and I can begin my life as a young adult. I want to be free from the system and finally live on my own.

I came to a halt as I saw my new home, its big, very big. Well big is not even the perfect way to describe it... its HUGE!!.I felt a shudder falling in the pit of my stomach as I approached the door. The lawn is cut neat and there is a beautiful garden.

"Mal" my newly mother said, I turned my gaze to her.

"Don't worry you'll be fine" she said, trying to make me feel comfortable. I cleared my throat and nodded. Even though I try to seem composed I was so freaked out, you think moving around over the years would let certain transitions like this be easier but no.

She is a beautiful woman, black short hair with brown eyes and smooth skin.

"I know" I replied softly.

Actually I felt like I was going to throw up, I don't know what awaits me in this house, behind these heavenly like wooden doors. Will my new family be like the rest? Wouldn't even call those past encounters family but you know...

I stopped at the door and waited. I don't know if moving in with the Hale's was a good idea, but okay. I'm playing its not like I had a choice. Karen lifted her gaze towards me about to say something but paused, obviously rethinking before going inside.

The door swung open and I stepped inside following closely behind her, you would think I was a kid trying to hide. I scanned the house and let out a sigh, we went into what I'm going to assume is the living room. Big plasma tv on the wall pointing a the entrance, a coffee table at the center and a big black couch. I stared in awe, everything is in the right place and don't even ask me how I know that. It just seems right.

"This is nice" I said breaking the awkward silence. It was huge, these people are not serious 'This is the house!?'.

"Thank you, your father and brother will be down in a minute, you can go sit while I prepare dinner"

I sat on the couch admiring the room once again, I mean I use to live in a nice house before I was put in a foster home but not this nice. This is a rich family, so I doubt they are using me for the money, this is perfect.

"Hey, man" a voice said

I shifted my gaze to see a figure lingering in the dark, when I refused the return the greeting they came into view revealing who now I'm sure is my foster brother Josh. I stared for a second, he's not weird looking so points for that. He's like if Karen was a male, a younger, more muscular male.

"Hi" I replied drawing out the word. He raised a brow clearly questioning my normality and the lack there of. To brush it off I smiled lightly and stretched out my hands. "I'm Mal"

"Josh" he said silently.

"Let me show you to your room" he said before turning and ascending the stairs. I don't know who he thinks was gonna run after him. The only thing my mom said to run after in this life is bus, money and women.

We walked through a narrow hall where I saw three doors and one supposedly big one at the end, I raised a brow and fixed my gaze on it, what in the narnia. This door-

"What's in there?" I asked pointing to the big red door. Josh who look surprised by my question shrugged.
"Amm..... Don't know, never been inside before" he replied.

I turned my gaze back to the door that josh opened and we went inside. I looked around for a minute, there is nice bed with a computer desk and a walk-in closet I sighed before I spoke "nice!". Josh nodded and exited the room waiting for me at the entrance. My room was huge, I don't need this much space but okay.

I followed josh and went down stairs. I saw a man sitting, watching TV, he stood as I approached him, he smiled warmly."Hello, Mr Hale nice house you have here, josh has been showing me around". I saw his face grew tense "No, no call me Robert"

Robert sat down and continued his activity. Both josh and I stood in silence, Karen suddenly appeared out of nowhere with a platter, smelling good I might add, ' good timing' I thought to myself. "Dinner time boys" she said with enthusiasm in her voice. We sat at the table and started eating dinner. She made everything steak, ham, pork, chicken etc.
~~~
We sat at the table in utter silence, until Robert finally said "Are you ready for school on Monday?" He asked looking towards me.
"I think" I responded to his question, really unsure if I'm ready because being the new student at every school you attend is so scary.I returned to my meal and placed a fake smile on my face. They looked at me then returned their gaze to their meal.
I looked up to see Josh looking into my eyes. He smiled and I felt a lump forming in my throat. I helped Karen wash the dishes and we talked for a bit.
I make my way towards the stairs feeling full and tired. I passed a room, when I heard something like music. I opened the door and peaked inside and I saw josh playing the piano and singing softly. It sounded nice, I went inside and stood still.
"That's beautiful, you wrote that?" I asked, his head snapped behind, looking towards me with wide eyes, he then spoke " thank you, yes I did". I smiled "cool, I play the guitar, its the only thing that calms me". He nodded "that's great" he replied.
I went back to my room and fell face first on the bed and released a breath that I didn't know I has holding. I closed my eyes and darkness took over me.
This is my first story so take it easy on me.
