ch. seven

ethan's pov:
i walk through the schools big doors with emma by my side. our fingers interlocked. i sense her tense up so i squeeze her hand as a sign of reassurance. i see a couple people start to stare but i don't mind, i can tell emma does though. i just hope today goes smoothly.

emma's pov:

as we walk into school i immediately notice about a hundred eyes staring at me and immediately tense up. i'm so used to blending in, this feels weird. i feel ethan squeeze my hand as if to let me know that today's going to go fine.

ethan spots his friends and starts pulling me towards them. i recognize all of them. how could i not? ethan's friends are the most popular boys at school, of course i would know who they are.

he introduces them to me anyway.

"guys i want to all to meet my girlfriend, emma" said ethan wrapping his arm around emma's shoulder.

"hi everyone nice to meet you" i say with a smile.

suddenly im met with 5 teenage boys throwing themselves on top of me in a group hug. i try to hug them all back but my arms are only so long.

they all break away and begin telling me their names like i've never heard of them before.

"hi im payton" a brown haired kid with a baby face says.
"im jack, nice to meet you" says a short curly headed boy.
"it's a pleasure to meet you emma, i'm finn" says ethans very tall and freckled friend.
"hello it's a pleasure im tom" a boy about my height with a british accent says.
"and im chase" says a slightly tall raven haired boy.

i smile at the boys feeling slightly intimidated. i turn to ethan for reassurance and he flashes me a big smile. i turn back to the boys and begin to make small talk with them all until i see amanda and olivia walking down the hallway.

"guys i have to go, but it was lovely meeting you all." i say smiling at the boys in front of me.

i grab ethans hand and i walk over to olivas locker where my friends are standing.

"hey guys" i say to them.
"hey ems" says olivia
"shouldn't you introduce us to him" amanda says while pointing to ethan with a smug look on her face.
"o-oh yea of course" i say cheeks reddening. "guys this is my boyfriend ethan"
"hi nice to meet you" ethan holds out his hand waiting for them to shake it.
olivia and amanda look at each other for a few seconds before rounding us up for a big group hug.

"as emmas best friends, we sort of fell obligated to tell you that if you hurt our emma in anyyy kind of way we will beat your ass" says olivia with a stern look on her face.
"like seriously fuck you up." says amanda.

ethan looks at me and i shrug not knowing what to tell him. it's not my fault my friends are psychopaths.

ethan turns to face my friends then looks over at me again. i see his face soften.
"why would i hurt my future wife ? that just sounds plain out wrong." says ethan still staring into my eyes. i forget about amanda and olivia until they both start jumping up and down screaming "AWWW" at the top of their lungs.

the bell rings and ethan gives me a small peck on the lips and a quick hug before running down the hallway.

"emma come on the was the cutest ever" amanda says still gushing over ethans words.
"he is pretty perfect isn't he" i say earning more "awwwws" from my friends.

we walk down the hall and into our class just before the late bell. i slouch in my seat not paying any attention to what
mrs. castillo was saying.

a couple of classes later the bell rings and it's time for lunch. i meet olivia and amanda at our usual table but this time i'm also greeted by ethan, grayson and some of their friends i met this morning.
"hey babe" i say greeting ethan
"hi em. is it okay if we sit with you guys ?" he says
"of course of course" i say with a genuine smile on my face.

me and ethan get caught up talking to each other, but when i look back at the group i see grayson and olivia flirting with each other, along with amanda and finn flirting back and forth.

i look over to ethan mouthing the words 'what the fuck'. he shrugged his shoulders at me not knowing what happened either. i make eye contact with grayson and he winks at me, before turning back to talk to oliva. i look back at ethan to see him looking over at finn with a smug look on his face. i bump his arm with my elbow turning his attention back over to me. we talk some more before the bell rings signaling the end of lunch.

before we all split heading off to our separate classes i turn to ethan, amanda, grayson, finn, and olivia and ask, "hey, do you guys wanna come over to my house after school. we could have a movie night/ sleepover."
i get a few yes's and a couple sure's before everyone heads off into different directions.

*time jump because i said so*

i decided to skip last period because really, who wants to be in biology when you could be preparing for a big movie night with all your friends ?

i start popping some bags of popcorn when i get a text from ethan.

ethan ♥️: hey em do want me to come over early to help you set up ?

me: yea sure that'd be great e

ethan ♥️: okay great see you in
5 <3 love you

me: love you too bub :)

god damn it. i love that boy more than anything.
