[Stan POV]
Words: 736

As creepy as it sounded, I examined Butters as he sat across from me chatting happily with Kenny like you would watch a puppy play with a ball at lunch pretty much every other time he sat with us. After elementary school, Butters became more of interest, and I enjoyed his company more than I probably would've ever fathomed even a year ago. When the feelings become more intense and confusing, my first action was obviously to confess to Kyle what I was feeling.

So here I was, on my super best friend's doorstep about to spill to him all of my feelings towards the small blond boy. Knocking hesitantly, I stepped back when he opened the door, giving me a raised eyebrow. "Hey Stan.. did you, um.. need something?"

"Yeah, I did." I mumbled. "Can I come in?"

"So.. yeah, that's pretty much it."

Kyle stared at me in shock as he sips his tea. "Well then, I certainly wasn't expecting that from you." Before I could question him on that, he cleared his throat and sat up. "Well, if you wanted advice on it, I can gladly give it."

My mouth felt dry so I just nodded, never feeling more grateful to get advice from Kyle.

"Ok, well, if I were you, I'd try to pay attention to how he acts. For example, does he fidget more than normal? What about eye contact?" He asked, leaning forward to look at me better, making me lean back.

"Uh, well, he does blush a lot. But like, it's Butters, that's pretty much all he ever does."

Kyle nodded thoughtfully. "Well, anything else?"

"I mean, he always kind of acted the same way around me, but he seems really happy whenever we talk, and always hugs me." I said, feeling a little awkward.

Kyle closed his eyes for a brief moment, then reopened them. "I suggest maybe you try to make a move, but make sure it's subtle enough he won't get suspicious. You can go from there, see how he reacts."

I raised an eyebrow. "You're making this sound like a science project, Ky. What, should I write down my results, too?"

The red-head snorted and shoved me teasingly with his free hand. "Shut up, dude. I'm trying to help you in your flaming love life."

"Yeah, well, guess I owe you one then." I said, standing up.

"My love life is fine, I'll have you know." Kyle defended himself.

I grinned. "Oh, really now, my dear Kyle? Because last time I checked you were crushing pretty hard on a certain—"

With light speed, he set down his tea and tackled me to the floor, covering my mouth with his hands. "Don't you fucking dare!"

"Awh, Cmon Kyle." I chuckled, although the sound came off muffled.

His face was a bright red, and I moved his hands and gently picked him up and got him off of me. Kyle groaned. "Dammit dude, stop being such a stereotypical jock. You and your big muscles and long ass legs."

Standing up again, I laughed. "Glad you think I'm attractive then, man."

"That's not why I—"

"Later Kyle, thanks for the help!" I called happily behind me.

I sat down at Starks pond, taking out my phone to shoot Butters a text.

Me: Hey Leo can u stop by Starks pond?
Butterboy💙: Yea, why?
Me: just wanna talk

I slipped my phone back into my pocket and sighed, waiting for him to show up.

Butters didn't show up for another ten minutes, in which that time I had been throwing pebbles into the pond, listening to them plop and fall into the cold water. "Uh, heya Stanley. What'd you wanna talk about?" He said from behind me.

Turning, I cleared my throat. "Uh, right. Listen, Butters—" my heart was pounding in my chest, and I went back to Kyle'a advice. "I was wondering if you maybe wanted to get lunch sometime?"

Butters' entire face lit up, and he nodded. "Of course, that'd be s'well! Who else is going?"

I blushed and rubbed the back of my neck. "Actually,, I thought it could maybe just be me and you?"

Butters gave a wide smile, making my heart flutter. "I'd be happy to have lunch out with you, then."

"Great, does tomorrow work?"

He nodded, and I gave a small, happy chuckle. "It's a date, then."
