When it was decided that you'd be staying , this wasn't exactly what you had in mind. You couldn't complain though. Even if you were sleeping in the same room as your tormentor. They had to buy a bed for you still, so in the meantime it was decided by Sans that you'd sleep in his bed. You told him you'd sleep on the floor, but he said that Paps would kill him if he found out. You didn't want him to sleep on the floor, so you told him to lay with you. As it turns out he wasn't planning to sleep on the floor anyway.

You laid, pressed up against the wall, as to take up as little space as possible. You could smell the mustard, though you couldn't tell if it was the clothes you were wearing, or the skeleton sleeping next to you. Either way, you felt strangely comfortable being near Sans. Maybe cause it was because he saved you several times. No one has ever done anything like that for you in years. At least... Not since THAT incident. You shook your head and closed your eyes and just focused on the smell of Sans. Before you knew it, you were fast asleep.

Sans P.O.V.

Sans turned over and saw your sleeping figure. Before he realized it, he was staring at you and stroking your soft hair. He didn't stop, however. What was wrong with him? You were so weak and frail. Any other monster wouldn't even see her as worth protecting. Yet, here he was doing just that. Wanting to do it. He couldn't understand why.

He looked at your soul. It glowed softly, and, despite being cracked and practically shattered, even warmly. He hated seeing it like this. Weakened. Your soul was so beautiful, yet broken. He wanted to see it whole. He wanted to be the one to make it whole.

His eyes widened slightly at his thoughts. Was he going insane? No. This was something else. It wade his very soul pulse with an indescribable feeling.

He gently stroked your soul as you slept without much thought. You shivered and stirred in your sleep a bit. Sans found your reaction cute and grinned. You did something to him. What it was, he had no idea. But he was slowly figuring it out.

Your P.O.V.

The next morning you woke up and stretched. Or attempted to anyway. You were kinda in an awkward position with a certain skeleton holding you, making it difficult to move. You covered your mouth before you could yelp out, not wanting to wake Sans up. He'd undoubtedly make you pay for it later if you did. As you slowly crept out of his grip you could've sworn you heard something and looked towards the door. Nothing. You shrugged it off and got up, heading out the room.

When you got down stairs you didn't see anyone and the sun was just coming up. Everyone was still asleep it seemed. A good time to surprise everyone with a breakfast as thanks. You went into the kitchen and opened the fridge.

An hour later you were just finishing up breakfast when you heard a door open upstairs. People were starting to wake up it seemed. Most likely Frisk or Paps. Sans would sleep for a while. Even in class that was all he would do. It wasn't long before two figures entered the room. Paps and Frisk.

"Wow! That smells great!" Frisk exclaimed, sitting down at the table, practically drooling. "I really have missed your cooking."

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH MINE FRISK?" Paps asked.

"O-oh! Nothing! I'm just saying it's been a while since I ate Y/N food."

"YOU KNEW HER BEFORE?"

"Yeah. We're friends. Actually she took care of me for a while when I ran away from the orphanage."

"IS THAT SO? YOU'RE REALLY KIND Y/N. HAVE YOU BEEN TAKING KINDNESS LESSONS TO?"

"O-oh! N-no! Th-this is just how I-I am," You explained.

"Y/N has always been this shy and kind since I've known her. She was like an older sister or mom even. She cares way too much about others. That's why she never fights back, even in really bad situations. She doesn't like to see others hurt," Frisk explained further.

"I SEE HUMAN. Y/N, YOU MUST BE THE KINDEST PERSON OF ALL, BUT NOT OR LONG! I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, WILL SURPASS YOU ONE DAY!"

"I-I look forward to that," You smiled.

"Me too, boss," Sans said behind you, making you jump. Sometimes you can forget that he can do that.

"P-please don't do that Sans."

"Whatever you say, sweetheart," Sans retorted. "Let's dig in."

Without hesitation Sans grabbed a plate full of food and started eating. Everyone else started doing the same. You smiled as you watched everyone eat. You were happy they enjoyed the food.

"Aren't you gonna eat, sweet cheeks?" Sans asked.

"O-oh! I'll wait," You responded.

Sans grumbled, made a plate and sat it in front of you. "Eat. You'll only cause more trouble if you don't."

You couldn't argue with him. He was right, and you didn't need to be a bigger burden then you already were. Reluctantly you started eating. At first your stomach felt a bit sick as you hadn't eaten in a while and couldn't exactly handle the spaghetti that Paps made last night, but you soon found yourself wolfing down your food. You were actually grateful Sans made you eat, but it was weird for him to show so much concern. You couldn't help but wonder why. To get your mind off him, you looked over at Frisk who was whispering something to Paps. He nodded his head to something then turned towards me.

"Y/N, WOULD YOU LIKE TO GO TO THE FAIR WITH ME?" Paps asked and you mentally cursed yourself. You completely forgot it was this weekend.

"Y-yeah. I-I don't usually go though, so-" You were cut off by Paps.

"GREAT! THEN IT'LL BE SOMETHING NEW FOR THE BOTH OF US!"

You weren't really sure about this, but it seemed rude to turn him down, so you went with it. It was decided that you couldn't go out in Sans clothes though. Frisk called Muffet, who gladly came over with a whole new wardrobe for you. After you got changed, you and Paps headed off to the fair, but you couldn't help but feel like you were being watched the whole time.
