Later in the day............................

 Hiro was occupied in the morning, he was being evaluated for anything that might have interfered with his connection to Ichigo. Even they scanned him thoroughly, he didn't seem to have anything wrong with him.

He then left the lab and started heading out, he then noticed Ichigo.

"All done?", Ichigo asked the boy.

"Ya, they said they didn't find anything wrong", Hiro told her.

Ichigo turned towards him and smiled, "Oh, that's good".

Hiro was sort of surprised that Ichigo wasn't mad anymore. He just kept staring at her lips for some reason. "Um, Ichi-", he was then cut off by the girl.

"Oh, about yesterday, don't worry about it okay. Like I said it was just a one-time thing", Ichigo said.

"bu-", Hiro then once again was cut off, this time by the COM.  

It was Nana, "Ichigo, get ready", she asked.

"Roger!" the COM then disconnected, "Bye Hiro", Ichigo said leaving.

Elsewhere...........................

It was a dark room filled with Orange colored holograms and at the center, two people were standing together. It was Hachi and Nana, they seemed to be analyzing Hiro's condition.

"He's the first sample that has piloted with her and has taken so little damage", Nana said.

"He failed to compound with Delphinium, but somehow he was compatible with Sterlizia, despite being unconscious", Hachi added.

"The only thing that can explain this is...", Nana said.

"The special specimen", Hachi finished.

On the Bridge of the BirdCage......................

It was a nice day outside, both Hiro and Goro were walking together while talking.

"Hey did something happen between you and Ichigo in the cockpit?", Goro asked

"No, why do you ask", Hiro responded.

"Well its just cause Ichigo was acting a little weird after the mock battle", Goro stated.

"Now that you mention it, she did seem extra happy earlier", Hiro remembered. 

"Well, I did tell Sina to talk to her, maybe he did manage to cheer her up. Well, we've all lived together ever since we were little and Ichigo was always sticking around Sina.  It's a miracle that all 4 of us from the special class got assigned here. I mean what are the odds.", Goro said while walking with Hiro.

Hiro realized this, "I guess your right". He then stopped, "Hey Goro, seeing as your Ichigo's partner, could you tell her that it was not her fault".

"Sure I have no problem doing that, but what will you do after this last attempt", Goro asked.

"Well I'd ride with ZeroTwo of course", Hiro said.

Gor was stunned by his friend's words, "Hiro, you've heard the rumors about her right"?

"You mean the one where nobody been able to pilot with her more than 3 times, Yes, but they are just that, rumors", Hiro stated.

"Didn't you say that you saw her previous partner, please-", Goro was then cut off by Hiro.

"look Goro it's not complicated if ZeroTwo is the only one I can ride with then all I have to do is ride with her. Our purpose in life is to pilot a franxx. that's why we are born", Hiro stated.
