Kayden’s POV

As soon as we had reached the jeep I knew we would be safe; Demetria was one of the best drivers the manor had and she was the one to always drive the head to various places.

I looked at Kat’s wound and noticed that she wasn’t healing, it hit me that she’s human and would not be able to heal; with this I noticed all the blood that was soaking into the top she had on; I knew even for a supernatural being that humans surely couldn’t lose this much blood and just wake up the next day fine. “She’s losing too much blood, she needs a doctor” I don’t know why I was so worried for a mere human. But I felt my dormant heart flare with heat as I looked at her slump body that lay against my lap; I knew I loved her but did she love me or was it too late to find out.

“I’ll drive to a hospital” Demetria said but was cut off by Reid, “They will find her there and finish the job, it’s too risky” I agreed but what? “We can save her” My words slid from my mouth with as much enthusiasm that even Demetria’s eyes slid from the road to mine. “That’s even worse than her going to hospital, do you know how risky it is and does she even want this life?” Her eyes were angered but her also dormant heart had found a spark when meeting this human they know new as Kat.

Reid interrupted the silence that had fallen over the three of us. “You will not be able to redo this once it’s done, are you sure you can teach her the ways and make her not want to end her life with the curse that you could be putting on her, this is a massive weight to carry, especially those who turn from human; it’s considerably harder”

“Get us to a motel” Was all I could say, as I rubbed my thumb across her cheek trying to caress her, knowing that the only way to save her right now was to make her a being of forever but it was more than that; I hoped she would be my forever.

We found a motel far enough away and had gotten a four bedroom suite; with two king-sized beds on opposite sides of the room with a small but moderately clean bathroom. Reid laid Kat down on the bed closest to the bathroom and retrieved a chair from the small dining table that was situated by the balcony doors. I seated myself. Demetria took a sharp petit knife from her shoe and ran water over it to clean it, as she returned from the bathroom, Reid had already retrieve thin tubes from the boot of the jeep; that would allow me to transfer some of my blood into her body and this would hopefully start the change and heal her back to health.

I felt a sharp but dulling pain; I noticed Demetria cutting my left arm and placing a tube directly into my blood supply, at the same time Reid was doing the same to Kat but with more precision; as she was still human. They taped the tubing to our skins and I watched as I my blood flowed through the tube and into her body, I soon felt the bond that I fused us together as my blood mixed with hers like we were becoming attached but not just through blood but through mind, body and soul.

I must have fallen into slumber because I was awoken by Reid who had a look of astonishment in his amber pupils. “What happened?” I said as I looked around to see no-one on the bed and no Demetria. “Where is she? Is she okay? Did it work?” I rushed through the questions hoping he would answer one of them soon. “She is fine, Demetria is helping her have a wash as she is completely drained from the blood transfusion but it worked man she is healed, but me and Demetria have both agreed to let you tell her what happened”
