Kat’s POV
The scene was beautiful as we waited for our meal; I had ordered a chicken salad which was my upmost favourite. “I’m just going to the ladies” I spoke as I stood up from my chair, “I’ll wait for you outside” Kayden was up in an instance, I knew he was protective but surely I wasn’t going to get hurt by just going to the restroom?
“I’ll be fine Kayden” I reassured him as he sat back down and I walked away from our table.
My way to the ladies was easy as there were many signs directing the way. Suddenly a pair a hands grabbed me and slammed me against the wall that was opposite the ladies restroom. A man stood in front of me but this was no man; his eyes shone blood red. “Tasty” was all he said as he licked his lips and slid his hands from my shoulders to my throat. “Kayden!” I screamed but was cut off from air as he tightened his grip from around my throat stopping my air flow. Without a second thought a pain rushed through me and I was jerked from side to side as his teeth were piercing my neck causing my eyes to roll back and my vision to blur.
I was thrown to the floor as he again pierced my throat a second time and that’s when I felt my blood rushing out of me. He was sucking my body dry of blood! I managed to find some unknown strength and push him off of me. He crashed into the wall he had just pinned me against. “You filthy wench!” he screamed and began to run at me, I dodged but his nails caught my shoulder. He left slices on my shoulder and I screamed in pain. “I should have finished you off earlier” he grabbed my hair and slammed my face into the table that was inches away and again; my face collided with the table and I felt the crack of my nose breaking but that did not stop him from repeatedly bashing me against this table.
The hands on my hair released and I fell towards the floor but was caught in a pair of arms; I gasped looking up immediately but was relieved to see Demetria looking horrified. I caught a glimpse of Kayden and Reid tearing the unknown man to pieces as my eyelids could not stay open.
Darkness took over me.
Demetria’s POV
From the moment I met this human named Kat, I knew I had to befriend her, we would be seeing a lot of each other due to Kayden finally finding his true love. I remembered when me and Reid had found out we loved each other; the connection is so thrilling It brings so much love to your relationship.
We had been waiting for Kat to return, but something seemed off. I looked at Kayden to see him also worrying. “I’m going to go and see if she’s okay” As soon as I had stepped up, so did the other two gentlemen. “I’ll go with you” they both said in sink.
The horror that unfolded in the restroom hall was unreal; I saw Kat’s head being smashed into a table several times. I saw Kayden and Reid run forward grabbing the scum bag who dare bring pain to our new friend and Kayden’s lover.
I lunged forward as Kat’s body slumped into my arms; her face was completely battered, she looked so scared but calmed down when she had noticed it was me holding onto her. She soon fell unconscious as we deposed of the creep’s body that was too badly ripped to shreds to even call it a human body. We exited the restaurant rear the back entrance with Kayden carrying Kat and me opening the back door for them. He placed her slump body onto the seat and sat next to her as me and Reid jumped in front; me riding shotgun and Reid driving, even though I knew and everyone else in this car knew I was a far better driver than these pair put together.
Once we got back to our motel room, we placed her on the bed and started to fix her up before she could feel the pain. I replaced her nose and taped it so it would heal properly and I was also the one to clean the blood and Reid and Kayden prepared a bath for when she wakes up.
Which we all knew, was any minute now.
Kat’s POV
I woke to a throbbing headache but I’m not surprised from the beating that I wish I could forget.
I felt a pair of eyes piercing into me, I looked to see Kayden and Demetria staring at me, a sigh of relief came from Demetria as she helped me stand. Reid appeared from the bathroom with a small sympathetic smile; in which I did take as a nice gesture since he was the one who had grabbed me by the throat and slammed me against the wall of Kayden’s old bedroom.
“The bath is ready for you now” he said, still holding his posture of pure emotionless even though I knew he wasn’t like this around Demetria. “Thank you” was all I could get my throat to say as it hurt even to breathe.
I collapsed almost immediately after; as Kayden had already been there to catch me as I started to cry in pain as I felt my bones cracking and breaking. What was happening? I thrashed as my body began to burn like a person was burning me alive, my body thrived in pain but that was not also why I felt like my skin was ripping and tearing from my skeleton.
Soon I couldn’t see. “I can’t see” I screamed. “It’s alright, shhh” I heard Kayden’s soft voice against my ear just as my body collapsed in pain again and then again for the second time today I was engulfed in a coat of darkness but that didn’t help the burning sensation that crept up into the darkness and made even my unconscious state start thrive against my scorching body.
