Your smile would light up all of our lives.
And your voice was a god-gifted lullaby
There are now just haunting memories
Left of your untimely good bye.

The wrinkles drawn on your face,
Confirmed your fearless courage.
And your stories mended dozens of dreams,
Which were worn down by age.

I don't know why I thought,
That death to a person was beautiful.
When all it ever did was take away,
As we kept fighting like fools.

The second you gave up on yourself,
On that evening of late May,
It was like you were so close, although
You were gone galaxies away.

I prayed for my conscience
For it seemed so unfair and cruel.
How you slipped from between our fingers,
While we kept on pushing you through.

All we could do was stare,
As the light slowly died in your eyes.
And no one can convince me otherwise
You really were an angel in disguise.

The even sadder part was
Watching your parent turn orphan in a blink
And all you could do was hold them close
As the Death unfolded it's tricks.

I know you are up above Nani,
Watching over your loved ones,
And sending them the whitest and purest of doves
Till we each finally reach our turns.

- Yours, always
