Slowly peeling open my eyes, I'm met with blinding light and the sound of happiness - the noise of thunder no longer evident outside. Humming in content, I lie comfortably with my gaze on the roof - finding myself oddly at peace after last nights dream. Only as a groan emits from beside me, I realise just why I'm so happy this morning. I quickly pull my arms away from Edmund as he begins to stir to life - eyes fluttering softly in the means of waking up. Feeling my cheeks burning with warmth, I quickly jump out of the hammock to save myself further embarrassment - practically running through the abundance of hammocks and ignoring the few odd glances thrown my way by the crew members already awake. I swear I can hear my name being called, but I choose to ignore it - not stopping until I see the bedroom door in sight. Sighing in relief, I pull it open and slam it shut - leaning against it with my eyes closed.
"Good morning Sophia."
I jump at the sound of Lucy's voice - my eyes snapping open to see her standing in front of me with her hands on her hips and a smirk on her face. Gulping, I push past her to ready myself for the day - giving her a pointed look as I do.
"Don't say anything."
She giggles at this, the sound bouncing off the room walls as I swap my evening gown for my pants and shirt - tightening my vest before gripping my weapons. Stepping out from behind the dressing curtain, I furrow my eyebrows - gazing around the room for the young girl.
"Where's Gael?"
Lucy gestures to the direction of the main deck and I make a noise of acknowledgement - knowing the young girl is probably attached to her father just as she has been since she first arrived. Tightening my looking scope on my belt, my quiver on my back comfortably, I follow Lucy out of the room - our footsteps falling into synch as we make our way toward the main deck.
"So since the weather has finally cleared, Caspian wants to venture to land again. Apparently we've been in front of an island all this time, and we never knew. We go to land in a few minutes I believe."
Lucy's words cause me to furrow my eyes, trying to absorb as much information as possible that she just threw in my direction. Wrapping my head around the information, I raise an eyebrow in her direction - slightly confused.
"And how do you know all this?"
Lucy sends me a no so subtle smirk, giggling slightly as we reach the main deck - the sunshine beating down on us which is a nice change compared to the past few weeks. Taking a deep breath, I listen as Lucy answers my question - shrugging softly.
"Caspian came down to tell me, didn't want to wake you and Ed."
Her laughter bubbles out as she wanders away, making her way toward Reepicheap and Tavros - both of whom are preparing the long boats for another trip to shore. Fighting the blush that threatens to explode on my cheeks, I shake my head and focus on the island that is indeed in front of the ship - looming out of the water almost threateningly. It's rather small compared to the other islands we have visited, with a volcano evident on the East side of the island. It looks pretty much abandoned, but then again so have the other islands.
"Sophia."
My blood freezes for a few seconds as Edmund's voice catches my attention - my gaze automatically drifting over my shoulder to see the boy gesturing me closer. Taking a deep breath, already feeling the warmth spreading through my cheeks, I make my way toward the boy with a small smile.
"Morning Ed."
He smiles, biting his lip slightly as he runs his hands through his hair - a rather attractive sight if I do so myself. Trying not to stare, I clear my throat and rock on my heels - knowing I'm being extremely awkward but I can't exactly help it.
