"Hey! Y/n! Come on, you gotta wake up!"
I groaned, rolling over to see who had disturbed my slumber. It was my half brother, Will. I blinked, a little confused by this. I wasn't in Bunker 9 anymore, even though I could've sworn I'd fell asleep on that wooden bench. I shrugged off the thought and turned my attention back to my sibling. He was continuously picking my forehead to get me up.
I pulled the covers over my head. "Just five more minutes!" I whined. Despite being Apollo, the sun god's, child, I was not a morning person.
"Aw, you can't hibernate all day!" Will complained.
"Watch me." I retorted, but soon felt the comfort of my bed being dragged away. Actually, more like I was being dragged... by my arm.
"You've got to be kidding m- Ow!" I cried out when my head hit the floor. Will just chuckled at his little stunt. Sometimes, I wish I was Medusa so I could turn him into stone. "Well, your out of bed now, so come on." Will turned to walk out the door.
I huffed, deciding to be stubborn. I shook my head and crossed my arms like a child all while lying on the floor. My brother groaned, pinching the bridge of his nose. Then, it was almost as if a light went off in his mind.
"You don't want to miss food, do you?"
"Food?!" I shot up, almost knocking over poor Will. In a flash, I was changed and out the door.
I heard my brother chuckle from somewhere behind me. "Works every time."
I sat at my usual table with my surplus of siblings and began shoveling food in my face.
"Quiet down everyone!"
A voice made me freeze, my fork halfway to my mouth. The voice was from Chiron who was addressing all the rowdy demigods.
"Percy, would you like to tell them?" Chiron turned to my sassy friend. I rested my head on my fists and scooted forward, pretending to be interested.
Percy scanned the breakfast crowd, not smiling, which was unusual. His eyes landed on Annabeth. I could practically hear his mind screaming.
"We have a quest, most likely." He said grimly. Gasps were heard from around the tables, while others just stared.
I'd never been in a quest, but from what I've heard, it wasn't something to look forward to unless you enjoyed a 99% chance of death.
A girl with fiery red hair stood on one of the tables, her eyes emotionless. "I received a prophecy last night."
"Water's deep shall lead the crew Aboard the ship, the Argo II The flaming promise is vague The newest sun is delayed Darkness is needed to complete the quest As light lays down at last to rest."
Percy sat down, staring at his bacon. Of course, the poor guy had been chosen yet again, or everyone assumed it at least.
Murmurs spread through the crowd of demigods.
"Percy always gets the quests."
"I feel bad."
"Argo II? The guy who built it has to go then."
"Isn't his name Leo?"
"Darkness?"
"The Hades child?"
"Newest sun? Must be Apollo."
"It has to be the new girl, Y/n."
My eyes widened and my fork fell from my hand. Suddenly, I didn't feel hungry anymore.
I was still sitting on a rock by the canoe lake as the campers finished their meals. Leo came over and sat next to me.
"I can't believe they chose me for another quest!"
I looked up, just now realizing his hair was on fire.
Leo obviously didn't. "I mean I guess it's because I'm the best quest dude out there. So I don't blame the gods for choosing me, but still."
I rolled my eyes, still shocked over the matter.
"Well I guess this is where I die." I said in such a monotone voice, it surprised me.
"What do you mean? You won't die."
I laughed bitterly, deciding not to respond. He already knew what I meant. Instead I glanced up. "Your hair's on fire."
He too tried to look up at his head. "Oh." Leo patted his hear, trying to put the flames out. "It does that sometimes."
Despite the situation, I still chuckled lightly. "So I've noticed."
There was a peaceful silence as the waves lapped up against the sand. The canoe lake was destitute of any campers. Suddenly, a thought struck me.
"Um, Leo." I glanced back at the fire boy. "What exactly is our quest?"
He blinked for a moment, then with wide eyes, replied. "Oh yeah! That's one of the reasons I came down here. Rachel wanted to talk to us. I think there was more to the prophecy or something."
"Rachel?" I cocked my head to the side.
"Oh that's right. You've never met her. She's basically the camps Oracle. Spits out prophesies, throws hairbrushes at all powerful Titans, she can't date anyone. Honestly I kinda feel bad, but better her than me. I couldn't imagine being an Oracle with all the ladies chasing me everyday-."
I cut off his rant. "Okay buddy, let's just go meet Rachel."
This chapter was kinda short. About a hundred less than what I want to write but oh well. I'm currently watching Big Hero 6 while writing this because it's such a good movie, change my mind (you can't).
Anyway
I cried because of the newest Trials of Apollo book. Did anyone else?
