I only remember little clips of this part. I blacked out every so often, and I remember some of when I was awake, but it's all sort of a blur. I remember two boys and a girl running towards me and the manticore, who was recovering from the blast of water. The first boy, who continued to summon water had dark hair, and a bronze sword that glinted in the light. The blond girl had a dagger, and looked pretty intimidating even without it. The last guy had darker skin than the rest, and messy hair that fell in his face. If I remember correctly, he was on fire. Literally.
I can recall the girl yelling at the flaming boy to get back to camp. That must've been what my mom was talking about. She also said something about holding the monster off, while the water boy shouted about blue cookies.
I blacked out again, but I could feel myself being lifted off the ground, and rushed towards what I guessed was the camp.
Next time I awoke, the three of them were looking down at me, but another figure popped up behind them. The new arrival had a baseball cap, and greenish-brown eyes, and-
I sat up quickly. "OLIVER!" I roared, and all four of them jump. He looked at me sheepishly. "Hi Y/n." He mumbled, giving me an apologetic smile. "You left me!" I frowned, but I could feel the anger boiling down to utter confusion.
"Actually, you face planted, and got lost. I tried to find you." He said, crossing his arms. "Is it really that hard to stop and wait for me to get back up before you continue to run like a coward?" I snorted. Oliver's face reddened, and water boy smirked. "I like this one! She's feisty!" The blond haired girl punched him.
"Well," The fire boy held is hand out to help me out of the cot I had been lying on. "I'm Leo, and that's Percy and Annabeth. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood where most of us demigods spend out short-lived, crummy lives. I'm sure you'll love it."
I ignored his hand, and stood up by myself. "Wait, did you say demigod?"
"Yup. Everyone here is a child of a god or goddess, and you are no exception!" He imitated talking into a microphone, like a host of a talkshow. "Any questions?" He held the invisible microphone towards me.
I could only stare in shock. I was a demigod? A day ago, I didn't even know they were real, and now I turn out to be one?
"So what you're saying is that I still have a father?" They all nodded their heads. This news hit me like a dodgeball to the stomach. First, I was thrilled, but it boiled back down to anger. "My father, whoever he is, just left my mom and I! How could he do something terrible like that? Now, I don't even know if I have a mother anymore!"
Leo's smile faltered, and though he didn't show it in his expression, his eyes told the story. "Did you're..." I began to say, but he nodded his head before I could finish. I sighed, and Percy and Annabeth looked around awkwardly , those were their names, right?
"Hey, um, you wanna tour of the five star Camp Half Blood?" Leo asked, his cheeky smile returning. "Five star huh." I said, rolling my eyes and followed the group out. "Y/n, I told you to stop being sassy." Oliver grumbled.
That was when Percy turned in his heel. "Excuuuuuse me?! I am the only sassy one here, thank you very much." He imitated a hair flip. "For all you sassafras needs, dial 1-800 SonOfPoseidon!" He spun back around, and Annabeth rolled her eyes in such a way, they could've reached Heaven... or wait, this was greek. They could've reached Olympus.
"I'm really sorry about my boyfriend. He does that a lot." She said. Ah, so we got couples here. My eyes unwillingly drifted towards Mr. Flame Boy, who probably hadn't heard a word anyone said. His head was way up there in the clouds. I cleared my throat. "So, you were gonna give me a tour?"
"Oh, yup!" He turned towards the house we had just come out of. "That place we were in a minuet ago, we call it the Big House. That's where important stuff goes on, and oh, Chiron lives there."
"Chiron?"
"Yeah. You'll get to meet him soon enough. He's a- you know what, you'll know when you see him."
"Um, okay." I scanned my surroundings, and my eyes found a lush green area, dotted with red fruit. "Is that a strawberry field?"
"Yes! The best in the country... uh, probably." He continued to point things out. There was a canoe lake, a volleyball court, and arts and crafts place, an arena, and the list goes on. We stopped in a ring of about twenty cabins.
"These here are the places where we split up by godly parent. Percy is Poseidon, Annabeth is Athena, and yours truly, Super-sized McShizzle, is the son of Hephaestus!" He said proudly. I snorted. "Super-sized McShizzle?"
"You know it!" He grinned. "So," I clasped my hands in front of me. "Which cabin am I in?" He shrugged. "We usually don't find out until we're thirteen, but you look like you're past that (just go with it), so you should know by now."
So my father had forgot about me entirely. Leo must've seen my frown, because he spoke up. "Hey, don't worry, I wasn't claimed at thirteen either. Maybe you'll find out tonight!" He was definitely the excitable type. "What if I can't wait till tonight? What if I want to find out now?" I asked. "Well let's see." He tapped his chin. "Oh! What do you like doing the most?"
"Hmm, well I love to sing and play instruments. So make music, I guess."
He nodded. "Okay what else?"
"I'm great at archery." This triggered a realization. "Speaking of which, where's my bow and all my stuff."
"When the manticore stung you, it impaled your backpack. We managed to get it, but most of the stuff, including your bow, was ruined." Leo explained. "Oh." I looked down sadly. Those were the only things I had left from my mom. "I could fix it." He said. I arched my eyebrows. "Oh, can you now."
He nodded. "Also, I think I know who your father is." This got my attention. "Really?! Who is it?!"
Leo smirked evilly. "I guess we'll have to wait till tonight to see if I'm right."
