1) "Name?"
Ashleigh. My parents used to tell me that’s the “Australian” way to spell my name (seeing as my dad is from Sydney) but I think they were just trying to confuse everyone who’s ever tried to write or pronounce my name LOL
2) "Age?"
2
2, I’ll be turning 23 on July 22. Cancer for life baby!
3)" What are your hobbies?"
Writing is obviously the most important hobby of mine, but lately I’ve been trying to branch out and enjoy things I’ve never tried — as of now, I can say I’ve taken a tattooing class and thrown axes! Pretty cool, eh? On a more normal note, I enjoy painting, reading, designing edits on Photoshop, going to the beach, dancing (poorly), singing in my car (also poorly), traveling, and snuggling my kitty Moscow. On my bucket list is pottery class, learning bass guitar, learning a second language, and skydiving. And to move overseas.
4) "When did you start writing and why?"
I’ve been “writing” since I was a kid, but for many years it never went further than creative stories or the occasional journaling as an emotional release. I only started really trying to write actual stories a few years ago
5) "Which was your first story generally?"
Oh god *cringes* The first one that comes to mind that I can clearly remember is a fanfiction I wrote about Justin Bieber LOL it was like 2012 and he was in that liminal stage between young Justin and entering adolescence, and me and my cousin were head over heels for the Biebs. Every time I visited my mom’s family in Kansas, where my cousin lives, she and I would spend hours together writing stories and bouncing ideas off each other. Life was simple back then. The story was called Smoke & Mirrors and it was about a young dancer named Aibileen that joins Usher on tour as a backup dancer, and JB just so happens to be the opening act. Turns out she and Justin have a history from when they were children, but he doesn’t remember her, so the majority of the story follows their relationship together and how the past is revealed to him. I can’t remember how it ends but it was very cringey and very wordy, and it’s probably in everyone’s best interest that I’ve erased all evidence of that story from my belongings hahahaa6) "Do you write in some other website except Wattpad?"
As of now, no. All my works are only on Wattpad. During my Belieber days I posted on the justinbieberfanfiction website but I’ve since taken down all those stories, and I’m pretty sure that website isn’t even functioning anymore lol. But as of the last couple years, everything is on Wattpad. I see no need to go anywhere else when I’ve found the community and support and friends that I’ve found here :)
7) "What has given you motive to keep on writing?"
Just knowing that I have the potential to impact someone’s life in a positive way, that really helps me put things in perspective.
8 )"Have you ever wanted to give up everything? (writing I mean)"
Honestly, yes. Many times. Good, meaningful writing, like any creative expression, requires every piece of a person in order to become something that carries impact and reflects passion. Masters of any craft spend thousands of hours perfecting their work, pouring every portion of their soul into it, and I’ve tried to do the same thing with my writing.
