As I eat my pancakes
With Aunt Jemima syrup
I can't help but think
That I shouldn't be
She was a real black woman
Misused and abused
To sell a product
And that's the tea
I wonder
Do you know about
The jezebel, sapphire
and mammy
All used stereotypical
Caricatures of
Black women identities
To now from history
And they all suck
And are meant to dehumanize
Us and I wonder if everyone knew
Would they even care
And share everywhere
Never to buy this syrup
For their pancakes
