Not gonna lie, this movie is what got me hooked on all things Nick Robinson in the first place! With the strong connection between both him and Amandala Steinberg, it is a movie I still continue to watch over and over again. And trust me, that is something I find VERY hard to do with a movie after I have watched it once.

Publisher's Description: Maddy (Amandla Stenberg) is a smart, curious and imaginative 18-year-old who is unable to leave the protection of the hermetically-sealed environment within her house because of an illness. Olly (Nick Robinson) is the boy next door who won't let that stop them from being together. Gazing through windows and talking only through texts, Maddy and Olly form a deep bond that leads them to risk everything to be together, even if it means losing everything.

The film begins with the main character, Maddy, in a field where she is trying to catch up with Olly. This is obviously foreshadowing, as we quickly learn that Maddy has a condition in which she can't go outside. And hasn't for almost 18 years.

When the next door neighbor moves in, Maddy's desire to be a normal teenager quickly kicks in as she would love to introduce herself to the good looking guy, she later learns is Olly. The feeling is mutual, as Olly tries to serenade her with a bundt cake from his mother and by getting her attention through the bedroom windows.

They quickly become friendly and text each other all day. Maddy begs her nurse to let her see Olly. This is only the beginning of what is in store for the couple.

But watch out, because things are not as they seem.

My rating: 8.5/10

My Reason: Given that this mainstream film catered to an interracial couple, it already won for me. This film was very well written and the romance was so cute that my heart wanted to melt.Plus, it ends in a way that basically slaps the viewer in the face with shock.

Should I see this movie: Yes! It is a clean film that you could watch with your kids. It places so much joy in your heart and restores the faith in love at first sight.
