At half nine I woke up and decided I'd have a bath now instead of the morning. I turned on all the upstairs lights and started running the bath. Fifteen minutes later it was ready and I lit some candles, dimmed the lights and jumped in. Just before I submerged my head, I heard a loud clang from downstairs. I gasped and slipped down in the water. There was someone in my house. I listened carefully and heard faint footsteps and grumbles of irritation as various objects were knocked from places. I stood up slowly, trying not to slosh too much before wrapping a towel around my body. I tiptoed across the landing  and looked over the barrier, the downstairs lights were on. I ran to the guest bedroom and flicked all the switches in a row, this intruder didn't know the layout of this house at all. That would be my first advantage. The next would be in the form of any weapon I could grab. I looked around the room and grabbed the first thing that came to mind. A large floor lamp. I snook downstairs holding the lamp up to my face, and peeked around the door. Nothing. The noise had stopped. There was no shadows moving. It was as if no one was here, "maybe I'm going insane?" I thought. Just in case I wandered into the kitchen. Then I noticed something, sat on the kitchen counter, I looked at it closely as my eyes adjusted to the dark. It was an untidily wrapped parcel decorated with stars. I opened it cautiously and inside I found a can of oil, two eye patches and a small travel pillow. "What the..." I whispered but was cut off by movement behind me. Without thinking I spun around and smacked my assailant directly in the face. The large shadow fell to the floor in pain and I ran to the other side of the kitchen to switch the power back on, the lights flickered back on but I could never be prepared for what I saw rolling on the floor in front of me. I gasped. "Foxy!?"
