As i got out of the shower i looked over into the mirror and turned away quickly before i could consider whether i was flushed by the heat or blushing. I wrapped a towel around my waist and another around my head, it smelt like fresh linen. Half an hour later i was dressed, made up and had written down everything i saw, minus the smile. I quickly popped a cold waffle into my mouth and went outside, the walk was quite peaceful considering my destination, birds chirped in the softly swaying birch trees and the wind tip toed through my hair. Suddenly, i realized something, to get to the police station i'd have to go past Freddy's, if i wanted to avoid it then i'd have to walk another half an hour out of the way. I decided to carry on regardless as the police had probably cordoned it off and there was little chance the animatronics were going to come out and target me in broad daylight. Animatronics plural, i didn't even know if the others had murderous intent.
Just when i thought my day couldn't get any worse, i bumped into Derek. My ex. When i say bumped into i mean he was stood and noticed me trying to cross and avoid him. "Oi Denny!" he yelled across the road, "Only my friends call me Denny." I muttered. "What?! Speak up, you know i hate when you don't project your words." "Nothing! Now if you'll excuse me i have errands to run." I hurried on and could almost feel him staring intently at my lower half, at the top of the hill i spun around and glared at him, before walking hopefully out of sight and down a crowded high street with brightly coloured shop displays lining the windows like a runway strip, guiding me to the main island where the road split into four. I could have taken the small country path behind my house but then i would've got my onyx black pencil skirt mucky and my heels were in no condition for gravelled paths.
I turned down the least crowded road and hurried down it. This alley always gave me the creeps, it was so enclosed and if someone else came down the other side, then i'd have to move to the wall to let them past. Luckily no one did come down and i trotted out the other side, i was now in the more abandoned side of town, but only because most of the buildings were clubs or other establishments that only opened late at night. I carried on walking for another five minutes before reaching a sharp turn to the left and right with a lonely, almost untouched park in front of me. I took a deep breath and turned right, avoiding the 'main' road that came from the left and stretched off into the distance, not like a car would come down here and hit me.
This was it, i was walking past Freddy's, I crossed to the pavement on the other side and tried to look at the ground. The one time i did look i noticed yellow tape across the door but no cars or actual policemen or women there. Odd, i thought to myself and hurried on, the countryside footpath would have brought me out here and i was almost regretting not taking it, i still had another ten minutes before i reached civilization again, i decided to jog the rest of the way. I took my heels off and sprinted down the barren road, not minding the occasional pebbles that dug into the flat of my foot. Finally i reached the old but welcoming doors of the police station, i slipped my shoes back on, caught my breath, and walked inside.
