The next day was chaotic.

While Lin was probably having fun chasing butterflies or being captivated once again by the view of the city Daenerys was rushed from place to place.

The doors to the meeting room burst open as Daenerys strode towards the center of the room. She was angry and frustrated. Why could nothing go as planned? Why couldn't things just be smooth without obstacles?

It made her think of Lin, how she doesn't have the weight of a name on her shoulders, a legacy to carry on.

She shouldn't be getting attached to this stranger so soon. For all she knew Lin could be lying about who she truly was...

"Your majesty, we just received a message from over the Narrow Sea." Ser Barristan said as soon as she approached the table. Opting on standing near the window for some much needed air she looked expectantly at her advisor but it was Ser Jorah who spoke next.

"King Joffrey is dead."

Daenerys looked around the table, eyes wide open. This wasn't something she was expecting after being called to a last minute meeting. The words Ser Jorah had just said made her think about what could happen next.

"And we have taken the Meereenese navy, your grace." Daenerys was getting agitated by what they were saying.

"Who told you to take the navy" She said a little irritated. Why didn't they inform her? She was their queen after all.

"No one." Daario said, smirk in place. He knew she wouldn't be happy about it having done behind her back but he loved breaking the rules and be free.

"So why did you do it." Her voice was quieter but the annoyance in her voice never left. She was angry.

"I heard you liked ships." The brunette had no idea of the tension in the room as he happily answered her questions while eating a fair amount of peanuts.

Turning away to think, Daenerys knew that whatever Daario just did made her initial plans go faster than she thought. With ships she could sail to Westeros with her army but she needed to know how many.

"How many ships?"

"93, your grace." Ser Barristan replied, having known about this too but now Daenerys didn't care anymore of who knew before her as another set of questions were in her mind needing answering.

"How many men can they carry?" She was impatient now. She had hope, hope that she was one step closer to the iron throne.

"9300 not counting the sailors."

"Would that be enough to take King's Landing?"

Ser Jorah was taken aback by how sure of herself his queen was. She had a certain determination oozing out of her that he still wasn't used too. She was the queen now, not Daenerys.

He tried cutting down the queen with reasons not to go but Ser Barristan countered him with each one.

As the older man was talking about the warriors they had that could overthrow the Lannister's men Daenerys listened as a smile came onto her face. She was admiring what she had with pride lost in her thoughts.

"...but we're not fighting to make you queen of King's Landing...."

The bantering between the two men continued as Daenerys was left in her thoughts.

"... Yunkai and Astapor have been overthrown by your absence...."

"Please leave me." Daenerys said as she looked out of the window. Everything they were saying had created a small headache. All she wanted was the iron throne but here she was, having to clean this mess up again when people couldn't just listen to her.

Everyone started to leave.

"Not you Jorah." She waited for him to be closer before talking again. "It appears my liberation of Slaver's Bay isn't going quiet as planned."

"You could sail for Westeros, leave it all behind. A boy sits on the iron throne."

As their conversation grew Daenerys came to some realisation that she needed to do what she was meant to do even if it wasn't where she wanted to do it.

"I will stay here and do what queens do. I will rule." With that she entered the balcony and stared ahead at the city of Meereen leaving Jorah behind.

He watched her before making a quiet exit.

She was finally alone again, staring out in the open. She was conflicted.

Daenerys wanted the iron throne but she couldn't just sail to Westeros without her cities being taken back into slavery, which was already happening.

The conflict in her resolved as she thought about the girl they had found a month ago in the city. She would have more time with her here if she stayed, unless she brought the blonde along with her for her journey to King's Landing.

Her advisors weren't fond of her she knew. Even Missandei had her doubts. That girl never doubted over someone, she could read people like a book but for some reason only she liked the blonde.

Ever since Lin's escape Daenerys had put guards near her. She wanted to be sure that nothing bad would happen with that girl around, no matter how innocent she seemed there was still something about her.

She didn't have time to let her thoughts deepen as she heard the door from inside creak. Small footsteps followed...

Hi there, sorry for the long wait. I drowned myself in Lord of the Rings for the holidays which was a very bad idea. Hope you enjoy this short chapter.
