-Second Person P.O.V.-

You found yourself in a bit of a.. sticky situation. And you needed a lawyer, so you did as most people do; call up Wright & Co. Law Offices. You've known the defense attorney for years now, so you trusted him well enough. However, it had been a while since the two of you spent time together.

Detective Dick Gumshoe held you in the detention center. You told him you wanted Phoenix Wright as your lawyer. He gave you a nod and left. About twenty minutes later, the man himself was outside of the viewing glass. He had a young girl with him. You felt a tinge of jealousy course through you, and you weren't sure why.

"So," Phoenix begins, "you wanna tell me what happened, (Y/N)?"

You open your mouth to speak, but you stop. You thought for a moment, Phoenix watched you expectantly. "It happened last night. It was time for me to clock out at the restaurant.. I heard noises and movement from the kitchen," you pause for a moment. "I-I thought it was odd, I should have been the only one still there, it was my night to close up."

"Your night?" the young girl asks.

You nod your head. "We each close up on different nights. Last night was my night."

The girl nods. "Continue please," Phoenix says.

"At first, I was too afraid to check it out. Then, I heard a horrid scream from what sounded like one of my co-workers, so on instinct, I run back into the kitchen.. but I-I was too late.."

Phoenix nods. "And the victim was stabbed, correct?" he asked.

You nod. "I-I tried to stop the bleeding b-but I-"

Phoenix hushes you by pressing a finger to his lips. "It's alright.. you did good." he smiled.

Blood rushed to your face. "Thanks for taking my case, Phoenix," you say softly. "We really need to hang out more.. it's been a long time."

With a subtle nod, Phoenix says, "You're right. It's a shame this is how we're meeting again." Laughter was faint in his voice. "(Y/N), when you get out of here, you and I can go out for a drink," he winked.

"Sure!" you chirp. It had been a while since you two had seen each other.

"That was so smooth, Nick!" the girl laughed. She turned to you with a smile on her face. "Maya Fey," she told you.

Fey.. a spirit medium? Interesting. You find yourself wondering where Phoenix found her and the story behind their relationship. She was young. Was Phoenix into younger girls?

"(Y/N)," Phoenix's voice pulls you out of your thoughts. "Maya and I need to go. If we don't come back, we'll see ya in court."

You solemnly nod. It hurt to watch Phoenix go. When you two first drifted apart, you thought about him all of the time. It was only recently that you had stopped thinking about him so much. Until you saw his name and face in the news paper. Whenever you saw pictures of him, your heart would yearn to see him just one more time. He had always been a great guy and an amazing friend.

After a few hours and a handful of more interrogations, it was time for your trial. You didn't remember it much; you're pretty sure the fear and adrenaline totally shot your memory.

Before you had went in, Phoenix told you it was an easy win. The real murderer was sloppy and left plenty of clues behind, pointing to her. Apparently the victim was cheating on her and he had been for years. And she found out the hard way. Just as he found out the hard way, not to mess with her.

At around 2:27, you find yourself in the Wright & Co. Law Offices. Phoenix said he needed to do a few things around the office.

"Hey, are you alright with going to my apartment instead?" Phoenix asked as he started turning the lights off in the office. "I don't know, maybe you'll feel safer?"

You shrug. "Sure, I trust you." You smile and Phoenix's face flushed.

"W-Well, um," his voice cracked slightly. "Let's go then." Phoenix held out his hand for you. You take it and his rough, cold hand gives your hand a squeeze. The two of you head out to Phoenix's apartment for the night.

You drank a lot more than the attorney, being much more excited about your win than he was. Phoenix allowed you to stay the night since you were so out of it. You took his bed and he took the couch.

You woke up again late at night. You suddenly didn't like the idea of sleeping alone, when really you only wanted the company of Phoenix. You started calling out his name, whining for him to come to you. You hear footsteps then a yawn.

"Yes, (Y/N)..?" Phoenix's voice was groggy and barely audible.

"Lay with me," you slurred. "I want a buddy." You could see Phoenix shrug in the darkness. He sprawled out his limbs beside you and got comfortable. You grabbed his arm and laid it across your stomach. "Thanks.." you say softly. You lay your hand on his and the two of you slowly drift to sleep.
