° Your POV °

"Ohm. I like that name," I said looking at my desk.

Almost as soon as I finished my sentence someone else walked up and plopped down in front of Ohm. He wore a red hoodie with black strings and cuffs, black sweatpants, and black vans. His eyes were intimidating, yet kind and inviting. He turned as far as he could, and they started a conversation.
"Hey, man. Nice game last night. That last kill was insane," said the new face. Ohm replied, " Yeah, that was one of the funniest game sessions we've had yet." They laughed back and forth, continuing to talk about games. I stared in awe, listening.
Eventually the new face took notice, looking a little startled he whispered to Ohm, "Uh... whose the new girl?" He replied at normal volume, "Her name's (y/n). I helped her out with getting to class this morning."
Ohm turned to me and introduced his friend. "This is Luke. He plays games with me, and our other friends," he said. His friend replied with, "Yeah, that's my real name, but all of my friends call me Cartoonz, so just call me Cartoonz."
As soon as I greeted him the teacher walked in. He proposed that today we would get to know our classmates, seeing how it was only the first day of the school year. He loudly stated, "I want you to get in groups of two to three people. Choose wisely, because your partners will be with you for the rest of the semester, unless, of course, trouble is caused."
I looked over to see Ohm and Cartoonz fist bumping. I kept switching my gaze between them hoping they would notice, and ask if I wanted to join. Ohm caught glimpse of me and chuckled saying, "Wanna be our third partner?" I gladly, and quickly, agreed.
Our teacher soon told us about what the groups would be doing first. The first mission was to have discussion within your group for 30 minutes, to learn as much as you could about your partners. The name of the game was to learn everything, because the teacher was gonna ask questions about a member and the other two had to answer correctly for points. Whoever had the highest score at the end of the game won bonus points for any grade.
Immediately my competitive side kicked in, I wanted those bonus points. The teacher set the timer, and I turned toward the boys. "How should we do this? 21 questions and we all have to answer whatever is asked," I suggested. They both nodded in agreement, so I decided to ask the first question. "What is everyone's favorite color?" Ohm replied, "I like green because it reminds me of grass and meadows." Cartoonz added, "I've just always preferred red, honestly. What's yours, (y/n)?" I told them, "My favorite color is (f/c)."
We quickly moved on, talking about everything from birthdays, movie preference, to favorite songs and genres, and etc.
Eventually we moved on to the topic of video games. When asked what their favorite game was they both replied with Rainbow Six Siege. "No way! You like Rainbow Six Siege too," I asked, excitedly. Ohm asked, "Hey do you have an Xbox? If so play with us tonight, we have another friends so we would be ready to queue with you!" Luke nodded and said, "Yeah, our friend is real nice, and funny too, so you'll like him." I agreed, and was almost about to give my gamertag when the timer went off.
The teacher stood up and said it was time to begin the game. He went around each group and asked ten random questions. Our group was last, and we knew we had to get at least 7 correct to win.
"Alright," the teacher started," what is Ryan's favorite color." He gave an easy question to begin with, thankfully. "Green," I stated eagerly.
He looked at Ohm and he nodded in agreement. Our first point was secured. We went on til our last question, we had six points and were tied with another group, so we needed to get this right. "What is (y/n)'s nickname," he asked. I sunk down in my seat. I didn't have a nickname, no one had ever bother to give me one. I had lost the hope of winning until I heard Ohm laugh.
He said, "Her nickname is Mi Novio."
The teacher looked at me for confirmation. I turned toward Ohm, laughed, then smiled, and nodded in agreement.
It looked like someone had finally given me a nickname, even if I didn't understand it's meaning.

Mi Novio
