Chapter 30

Chapter 30:

Having agreed to Logan's proposal of starting a new pack, Layla had just finished talking to the others in the cave. There was a mixture of shock and excitement throughout the group.

"So...what do you guys think? Are you going to join us?" Layla slowly asked while biting her bottom lip nervously.

"Well, duh. Right?" Gabriella replied as if there was only one answer, and then swirled her head around to glance at the others.

Neil, Zachary, and Elliot just nodded their heads in agreement. Rhea and Jacqueline looked as if they were about to jump out of their skins with enthusiasm. Their eyes were as big as kids' in a candy store, and they were practically jumping up and down in place. Natalie stood next to Elliot, a big smile on her face, while Xavier just glanced around confused as to what everyone was talking about.

"Then it's settled. We can start packing up and head out to find a location far from here," the leadership in Logan's voice was evident as he practically dismissed the group.

"Wait, what about us?" they turned to see Shawn and Callie walking towards them, hand in hand.

Scrunching up her eyebrows in confusion, Layla warily looked to see how Logan would answer. She wasn't sure why Shawn would want to join the pack, or her foe that is now known as Logan's ex. Hell, she wasn't sure whether she should be shocked or happy for Shawn that he was holding Callie's hand.

"If that's what you really want then I don't see a problem with it. Do you Layla?" shrugging his shoulders, Logan turned to face .

She wanted to stomp her foot in protest and throw a tantrum like a small child. She wanted to shout and scream that she didn't want Callie anywhere near what was supposed to be her fairytale ending. There was no way in hell that she was going to let the wicked witch come and stomp all over it. Layla didn't really know Callie, but everything she did know involved her being manipulative and a spoiled brat who would do anything to get her way. Does she have a problem with her joining their new pack? Hell yeah, she does!

"No, that's just peachy. The more the merrier," she gritted through her teeth instead, burying her predator instincts as far down as she could manage.

"Great. I know we got off on the wrong foot, but I'm sure we could become the best of friends. We already have a common interest in guys," Callie gestured towards Logan and Shawn as her voice reached an all new pitch on the fakeness scale.

Groaning in disgust, Layla tried to pull her attention to something else. She crossed her arms and walked away to start packing up the little items that they did possess.

"I hear America is nice this time of year," Elliot chuckled as he flung a satchel over his shoulder.

"Is that so?" Neil's blue eyes glistened as his lips twitched up in a slight smile.

"America? Oh, I've always wanted to go there. Can we, Logan? Can we?" Rhea exclaimed, giving her best puppy dog eyes.

"Sure, why not? I don't know why you're asking my approval," he responded, glancing over the stack of baskets in his arms.

"Well you're obviously going to be the alpha male. You and Layla have already been alphas, and you are the one who started this pack," walking up beside them, Gabriella couldn't help but smirk.

"I suppose we can go with that for now, but I think we should come up with a different system. More of a council or something instead of just one leader," Logan sighed and piled the baskets onto the cart that the boys had put together out of firewood.

"Whatever you say, brother," Elliot chuckled, patting Logan on the shoulder.

Logan could feel himself grinning at those words. He not only had his sister back, but he had gained a brother-in-law, a nephew, and a beautiful girl to truly be by his side. What more could he ask for? The warmth he was feeling inside himself was the best he had felt in a long time. Leaving the Hadan pack was the greatest decision he had ever made.

A/N: I have decided to make this the last chapter. I know there are still some loose ends, but if this story seems interesting enough and worth it to the readers I will make a sequel based on the new pack. So if you would like to see that happen please vote and comment :) add in any ideas that you may have for the next one.
