Mercy:
Caprice held a one shoulder black dress against her chest. Her eyes bouncing from me to Naveah. "So? This one or should I go for my red dress that's a little shorter?"
Naveah giggled as she leaned into my right shoulder, "She does know we're just going to a basketball game right?" She whispered loud enough for Caprice to hear.
I giggled a little too, "It is too much for a game don't you think?"
Caprice tossed her expensive dress on to her bed and pouted. "I don't know what to wear! Beau is going to be playing and I want him to notice me."
Beau Lockwood is the basketball captain of Bay's team. I'm not interested in basketball but the only time I actually watched was during Miami Heats game. I love me some LeBron James and Bosh.
I don't know why Caprice is trying to dress good for this guy she's gorgeous. Way prettier than me and Naveah.
"Just wear the cute top you bought the other day with some sexy bottoms." I suggested.
She bit her bottom lip, "That shirt is cute though." She turned around and headed for the closet we shared.
Naveah sat on my bed and I joined her. I had opted for a pair of black leggings and a simple white sports bra. My blue and white varsity jacket making my outfit somewhat appropriate.
"How'd you lose all your baby fat?" Naveah flicked my butterfly belly piercing and patted my flat stomach.
I remember months of running and going to the gym every now and then. "I just worked out everyday with my waist trainer. It's tight and it works."
"How much you bought it for?"
"Like fifty I don't remember."
Naveah nodded her head. "How you holding up though?"
She just had to remind me of Karson. I ran my hands through my hair, "Good I think. I know when I see him I want to choke him, but other than that I'm starting to calm myself about the fact I'm going to the same college as him."
"That's good. Don't let him see you sweat. Karma is a bitch and I'm sure he's gonna get what he deserves in the end."
"I hope so too."
Caprice walked out the closet wearing a yellow blouse and her blue jean skirt. "It's simple but cute. I just need to find some cute heels and we're out."
My phone vibrates on my bed. I pick it up. Kania's picture flashing above my Aunt's name.
"Hello?" I immediately answer.
I hear Kania crying in the background and I stand up. "Is everything okay Lo?"
"Hey, Cece. Everything's alright don't panic girl. Nia is just upset that's all. She misses you."
I know coming here wasn't going to be easy but if I'm going to support my family I have to start here. "Let me talk to her real quick."
Caprice and Naveah walks towards the door. I tell them I'll meet them downstairs.
"Your mom wants to talk to you but you have to stop crying Nia. Alright?" I hear Lo telling my daughter.
Nia keeps crying but she starts to calm down and I hear her sniffling against the phone. "Mommy?"
The sound of her voice makes me sad. She's so far away and I just want to hold her and make her feel better.
"Hey, baby girl. Why you crying?"
