Laura's POV

I lay next to Toby, staring up at the ceiling in the darkness of midnight. Toby lay relaxed and spent beside me, stretching out his long limbs before putting his hand over my breast.

"Wow, it just keeps getting better and better," he sighed before curling up against me as if he were a child.

"Do you think we should give up looking for Lindsay?" I asked, still staring up at the ceiling.

"It's no use to look for her if you won't go to the police, and just keep trying to look for her yourself," Toby replied. "Just go to sleep before I get any more ideas."

He fell asleep soon after that, and I quietly got up and walked out of the room, as if this was just a one night stand. I sighed, padding to Trevor's room in all my naked glory. I walked in, grabbed some clothes, and, after I put them on, sat on the bed next to the half sleeping Trevor.

"Hey princess," he grumbled groggily.

I felt a blush run over my cheeks. "I'm not your princess Trevor," I whispered.

"I know. I wish you were though." Trevor sighed and sat up. "Why are you with him?" he asked for the thousandth time.

"You know I can't leave him," I sighed, slumping over a little bit.

"That excuse is getting old," Trevor said quietly.

I sighed again. That excuse was getting old. "I don't know to be honest."

"Yes you do," Trevor goaded.

"I do," I admitted. "He will leak my nudes."

"Even if he does, you have no reason to be ashamed."

"I have every reason to be ashamed." Silent tears started to fall down my face.

Trevor sat up, taking me in for a hug.

"I'm here if you need me," he whispered to me."

"I know," I choked out.

Lindsay's POV

The schedule here was rigorous. I sighed, fixing breakfast for the house, as I got up early. A lot of the people here left early in the evening and didn't come back until after midnight. Amber and I were the only ones that stayed behind, and she went to bed early.

"I didn't expect you to be awake," a soft voice said from behind me. It was a female named Domina, the second in command in this weird house.

"Well, I didn't go on the mysterious outing y'all had last night," I replied flippantly, going back to mixing batter for some muffins.

"What are you making?" Domina asked, coming closer.

"Muffins, but there really isn't anything to flavor them with," I replied, continuing to mix the batter.

"What do you need?" Domina asked.

"Blueberries, bananas, strawberries, chocolate chips, whatever," I replied again.

"Do you want me to go get some?"

"No it's fine. I'm almost done mixing anyway."

"Oh."

There was a small awkward silence before Domina spoke again. "Is there anything you need help with?"

I was taken aback. "Back where I used to live I didn't have any help cooking or anything."

"This isn't where you used to live," Domina said, a soft smile framing her face.

"Oh... um... I guess you can get out the bacon and sausage."

"Good. I'm good at cooking that," Domina laughed. She had a soft, beautiful laugh.

"We cooked together in silence. I missed this part of my life. I loved cooking for people, even though I got nothing from it. I wanted to volunteer for Meals on Wheels or something, but I never had time with school and taking care of Laura.

Laura...

I sighed. I missed her. I knew we left on a bad note, but she was still my sister. Now that I think about it, though, we didn't have the best of memories together. We had almost no memories together, actually.

I blocked out all thoughts of my sister, continuing to cook.

The occupants of the house began to trickle down into the kitchen, the smell of food creating the music of the growling of their stomachs. They didn't come into the kitchen. They sat at the table, waiting to put the sight of the food to the smell.

Amber came in, awkwardly standing there until she was commanded by Domina to start setting the table.

"How come she has to... do all this stuff?" I asked, staring at Domina.

"She's domestic like that," Domina dismissed.

We carried out the buffet of food, Amber coming in to help. We all sat at the table, not touching a single piece of bacon or a crumb of muffin. I realized early on that Leader gets the first bite of food.

We all sat there for 5 minutes before I started getting antsy. Then I started getting angry.

"This food is getting cold," I grumbled before getting up from my seat.

"What are you doing?" Domina asked a little sharply.

"Getting Leader," I said, leaving no room for argument. That's when Domina stood up.

"You better learn to watch your tone, New, before I put you in your place," Domina whispered.

The whole table sat there awkwardly, eyeing our exchange with weary glances.

"I have tackled bigger and badder people than you," I said levelly.

"There is nobody badder than me," she said, raising herself to look more dominating. That was why they called her Domina. She actually was dominating.

"I doubt that," I said.

She started towards me, her steps even, coming face to face, except she was smaller than me.

"You better watch your mouth," she whispered, " or Leader won't be able to save your sorry ass."

"Try me," I breathed.

Her fist slammed into my face without preamble. I reeled back in surprise and pain. She drew her fist back for another punch but I clumsily dodged it. I was no stranger to fights, but she was definitely well practiced in hand to hand combat. I assessed the situation, like I usually did in any dire situation, and blocked her punches while slowly moving backwards away from the dining table. I started taking more punches as I slowly got out of the way of the food I had cooked. Soon, we were in the formal sitting room, the rest of the group watching aptly.

"Well well well, what do we have here," came the soft, dark voice of Leader.

Bunny stood behind him, standing tall but weary in a small sundress.

"She disrespected me," Domina said, standing up from straddling me, loosening her limbs and looking almost as if she had never been in a fight.

Leader stared at me, demanding an answer.

"I cooked breakfast and didn't want it to get cold. So I tried to get up to come get you. Obviously, Domina didn't like that."

"Is this true?" Leader asked Domina.

"There's more to it of course," she clipped, though I could see stress start to cloud her features.

Amber got up from the table. "She did ask Lindsay to sit down and-"

"Shut up," Leader said. Amber immediately sat down.

"Domina," Leader said, and they left the room.

I never saw her again.
