"WHAT IS THIS?" Gauis stormed in "Merlin! Aveline! What if it were Arthur who cam here before me? HMH?"
"I...." I didn't know what to say. We hadn't done anything inappropriate...unless staring at each other for a few minutes is considered inappropriate.
"He would have caught you doing magic! And oh then where would we be?!"
I mentally sighed.
"Right. We are terribly sorry Gauis, but you know how much I want to practice...so I asked Merlin to teach me how to use my magic for simple things, like washing clothes. You know start easy, right?"
Gauis sighed "Yes Aveline, yet you must understand that magic is banished in Camelot and anyone to preform it will be severely punished. As your new teacher, Merlin should have taken that into consideration when he taught you that trick."
"You're right Gauis I'm sorry."
"Just be careful. The both of you." he walked out of the room.
Merlin smiled and I tried not to laugh
"I better go"I gave him a quick hug and ran off to my room.
I sat on my bed ans sighed. There was a soft knock on my door.
"Come in."
A young man shyly cam in.
"Yes?" I asked sitting up
"I have brought you a letter madam"
"A letter?"  I stretched my hand out, he came towards me and handed a old paper to me.
"Thank you" I mumbled.
"Yes my lady" he whispered softly bowing down and leaving.
I quickly opened the letter and brought out an old parchment.
5 hours later
Merlin's POV
"Merlin where is princess Aveline"
"I don't know."
"What do you mean you don't know?"
"That I don't know." I gave him a small smile.
"Merlin no one has seen her in hours."
"I'm sure she's fine I saw her this morning "
"Have you seen her since?"
"No..."
"Then go look for her!"
"Right" I muttered before leaving the room to find Aveline. I didn't know why Arthur was so worked up, I was sure Aveline was fine. Then again I can't complain. I love spending time with Aveline. Her smile brightens my day. I decided to first check her room.
I knocked softly on the door. No answer.
"Aveline?"
I heard a muffled noise coming from inside.
I slowly opened the door and popped my head inside. Nothing. But the muffled sound got louder. It sounded...like crying.
"Aveline?" I called fear running through me
I walked over her closet. The noise was coming from in it. I opened the door. Aveline was curled up in a ball of tied up dresses. She was hiding her face in her hands and I could hear her crying. Started I knelt down with her.
"Aveline?" I whispered "Are you alright?"
She shook her head, still hidden in her hands. I slowly wrapped my arms around her. She stiffened but after a minute her muscles calmed down. She shifted her self and wrapped her arms around my neck and hid her face in my chest. She was still crying. I noticed she had a crumbled paper in her hand. I took it and examined it.
Dear Aveline,
Aveline, how are you? I hope wherever you are you are better than here. It's me your old neighbor Ella. It's been so long since we have talked, and I wish I could send this to you because of cheerful event. Sadly that is not the case. It pains me to tell you that your grandmother is deceased. She died last friday. Her tomb is built. I'm so sorry Aveline. Hope you're well.
-Ella

I looked at Aveline. She was silently crying in my chest. She lost her grandmother.
"I'm so sorry Aveline."
"I didn't even get to say good bye. And now...now she's gone." she whimpered
"Aveline. It's going to be alright." I whispered, brushing a loose strand of her hair back.
She looked up at me. Her eyes were filled with sorrow. She seemed so weak, and fragile. I rested my forehead on her's.  Her warm breath tickling my skin. Slowly I leaned in and our lips met.
