Invasion - part 22

They stood there on the hill seeing the grounders setting up some sort of ceremony to kill Finn. Brooklyn felt guilt pool in her stomach maybe she should've stopped him. Brooklyn couldn't take this she moved away following Clarke. "I'm going to talk to the commander" Clarke stated before Raven slipped a knife into Clarke's sleeve. Brooklyn stood there next to Raven and Bellamy as she walked down to the grounders.

Brooklyn felt a squeeze on her hand as she looked down to see Bellamy's hand holding hers as he watched Clarke intently. He was holding it absentmindedly as he watched the fate of Finn. She squeezed back. Finn was being taken down and tied to a post. Brooklyn again recognised the look on his face he was ready. He was ready to go.

Brooklyn's eyes were tearing up she realised what Clarke was going to do with the knife as she approached Finn. Brooklyn couldn't look she curled into Bellamy's chest as he protectively wrapped his arm around the girl as he watched. Clarke stepped away from Finn's body as he hung dead. Clarke had killed Finn. All you could hear were the piercing sobs of Raven as she broke down. Brooklyn moved her body as close to Bellamy's as she could leaving tears to stain his shirt.

Bellamy pulled Brooklyn back to her sleeping quarters as she cried into his eyes. "shhh it's okay, Clarke told me we're heading off to Tondc tomorrow with Finn's body. You did the right thing" Bellamy calmed her. They curled together on the bed keeping each other warm.

They walked along with the grounders heading of to Tondc. Brooklyn walked ahead as Clarke and Bellamy argued but they didn't know she was listening to their whispers. "if you two can get out I can make it in" Bellamy tried. "no, it's too dangerous" Clarke warned "since I don't take orders from you, I'm gonna need a better reason" Bellamy retorted. Brooklyn instantly turned around "no, you're not going, is that good enough" she said harshly. Before turning around to hide the tears threatening to fall. "I cant lose you either" Clarke muttered. Bellamy had shut up after that watching Brooklyn from behind as she walked unsure of what was going through her mind.

They had managed to get to camp settling in. Brooklyn sat next to Bellamy in a secluded area from everyone else. "what's going on with you" Bellamy said looking to Brooklyn. "I'm scared Bell" Brooklyn admitted. "I cant lose anyone else" she cried. Bellamy pulled the girl into his lap as they sat there always seeming to be in each other's embrace, it was their only comfort.

From far away Kane watched his daughter with the boy as he turned to Abbey. "they oddly work you know. I've never seen her show this emotion other than her grandma" he claimed looking to Abbey. "I've noticed, he really cares for her. Should've seen how desperate he was to get her back after we lost her" she said as they watched the two drift off to sleep in each other's embrace.

They had made it to Tondc as they searched each member for weapons. Brooklyn felt uncomfortable as they searched her she felt him push her back slightly. She ignored it as she knew anything would set these people off. She moved off to find Bellamy grabbing a hold of his hand. They stood around the post that had Finn wrapped and placed on top of it. Lexa held the fire before looking to Brooklyn. "Brooklyn" Indra spoke motioning for her to set the fire to Finn's body. Everyone was in shock expecting it to be Clarke. But Lexa saw Brooklyn as the leader. She stood forward letting go of Bellamy's hand as she set fire to the structure.

Brooklyn walked back before moving back to Bellamy as they moved to a feast. They entered as they sat around a table full of food. "please accept this gift commander we drink this on exempt occasions, I believe this qualifies" Kane offered the alcohol. "Brooklyn, Clarke let us drink together" Lexa offered. As they toasted the grounder tasted the drink first. Suddenly he collapsed seeming to have a fit. "it's poison" one muttered. "it was the sky people". "we didn't do this" Clarke yelled. Brooklyn was being searched when they pulled out a vile. "head, here" he gave it too the commander. "that's not mine, he put that there when he searched me" Brooklyn pleaded. Bellamy and Kane moved to her quickly protectively guarding her in fear of what was going to happen.

"I didn't do this" Brooklyn pleaded as Bellamy grabbed her pulling her into him kissing her head. "I know Brooky I know" he caressed her head. Indra came in with the other guards "take her away" they pointed to Brooklyn. Bellamy tried to move but was held back by the others. Brooklyn was strung up on a post as Lexa moved to her with a knife. "I trusted you Brooklyn, saw you as our own. I didn't expect this from you. But this time justice will be done" she threatened as she moved forwards slicing at Brooklyn's skin. For the second time she was being tortured this was better than the first. She'd take this than the mountain man anytime. She didn't make any noise as the grounders took turns in slicing her body. Brooklyn looked around to see Bellamy watching her trying to fight to get to her she just looked at him shaking her head.

She didn't scream but accepted the pain. As Clarke came storming out of the room. "it wasn't our people Lexa. I can prove it" Clarke claimed as she took a swig of the drink. "it was you, you tested the cup and you searched Brooklyn" Bellamy realised.

"this alliance will cost you your life heda I could not let that happen" Augustus admitted. As he was taken away Bellamy ran towards Brooklyn setting her free as Kane helped him. She dropped into Bellamy's arms feeling weak. They all watched as Gustus was stabbed just as Brooklyn was. Brooklyn was feeling weak as she sat there the others surrounding the fire as they heard the radio.

"hey listen to this" a girl yelled.

It was repeating. They're alive in mount weather. Brooklyn needed to do something they were probably torturing them the way they tortured her. "you need to go" Clarke admitted to Bellamy. "then I'm going too I know my way around there" Brooklyn spoke up. "no you need to recover" Bellamy protested. Brooklyn looked around seeing Raven's eyes she knew. They nodded to each other both knowing this needed to be done.

Brooklyn knew she was going; she decided no matter what. Bellamy and Lincoln headed off in the morning little did they know that Brooklyn was following them. They walked through the woods Brooklyn stealthily followed from behind.

Brooklyn listened as they talked "you and Brooklyn hey" Lincoln questioned. "shut up" he muttered. "what's with you two like are you a thing or?" Lincoln questioned. Brooklyn would've laughed but she was actually interested his answer as she would like to know herself. "I care a lot about her, but she doesn't really talk much about her feelings, so I don't even know what she thinks" Bellamy admitted. Brooklyn looked to her feet feeling guilty for not talking to him. "well it seems she likes you from what I've seen it's pretty obvious its mutual" Lincoln noted. Making Bellamy chuckle "yeah she's pretty special" Bellamy thought. "okay lover boy lets go" Lincoln laughed as they approached the entrance to the caves.

They walked through the tunnels approaching the entrance as the reapers were taken in. Bellamy was in the line-up; Brooklyn couldn't help but get worried what were they planning. Bellamy was taken away into the room to be readied for harvest. Brooklyn was useless she just had to watch waiting for the perfect time. She saw no one was watching the entrance giving her the perfect opportunity to sneak in. she looked around seeing the cages it was all too familiar the room. She began to get flashbacks she was helpless she was trying to look around to find Bellamy but guards came in. she ducked behind watching as they took someone. Bellamy? Brooklyn recognised him as they strung him up. Brooklyn needed to find Bellamy. She saw him but before she could enter she saw Maya with him. Brooklyn had to stay low as Bellamy attacked a guard and they worked together to get rid of him. Brooklyn watched as Bellamy strangled the man to death. She stood there in shock. The feeling of being in the building again to the shock of what she had just witnessed.
