“I am really happy for him. I mean really. He is with one who loves her so much and more than that he too loves her.”

“Really Ava! I mean I know that. Sorry didn’t mean that. But what ‘bout you. Are you happy? Are you okay with that? Because I’m not. I cannot tolerate seeing my best friend sad.”, retaliated Paige. No best friend in this huge world can see her best friend hurt like this way……being heartbroken. More than being best friends they were soul sisters. Both cared for each other……both loved each other.

It’s been a year since Ava told Paige that she loved Beau. Initially she thought it’s just a fling that every teenager suffers from, as a result of hormones. Ava hadn’t ever had this feeling like her batchmates, like her friends. Though she didn’t have much friends. She was kinda introvert or maybe socially challenged. She loved being alone or with Paige but none else. Even she didn’t have friendly relations with her family.

Having crush for more than six months on Beau, Ava realised it wasn’t just a mere crush or fling, it was love. Yeah…. She realised that she has been in love with Beau for months. She had always wished being with someone who loved her like a child loves his tiny imaginary friend, like Murat loved Hayat, like Darcy loved Elizabeth. She knew that she and Beau can only be friends not more than that. Maybe it was because she always thought that she isn’t beautiful or funny like other or maybe because everyone made her think so.

She was a chubby girl having a fair complexion, dark brunette hair with bangs, blue eyes which were so deep that anyone could have fallen into it. But still no one could see it. Maybe because everyone had a nerdy image of her, being studious, not being social, always busy in herself. But that was her, so original her, not a polluted skin with tonnes of makeup, like any other girl of her age.

“I am extremely happy. Can’t you see it on my face?”

“No.”, replied Paige bluntly.

“Look we have to accept this fact. Beau is with someone who loves her. They both love each other. Moreover, they deserve each other. I and Beau are not even a match. Just think it yourself, who would want to be with a girl who is a freaking nerd.”

“You’re not a freaking nerd. Don’t you ever dare say that again. You are the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen in my life.”

“Okay fine. Look I cannot confess my love for Beau. I don’t want my friendship to end. Let it be the way it is.”, Ava insisted.

“But…….”

“No but. Now before we get late for the class and face detention, hurry now. We have only 5 minutes.”

The rest of the day Ava spend thinking about Beau. She was surrounded by the thought that she can never be with Beau. He and Suzy looked like a power couple. Suzy was a perfect flawless girl. She had a pale white complexion, black long hair, hazel eyes and a perfect model figure. She and Beau looked as if they are made for each other. Ava could never compete with Suzy. She just wished someday Beau would love her as much as she loves him right now.

Three Months Later…

The campus main hall……

“You cheated on me with James. Get the hell out of here. I don’t wanna see your face. For months you have been cheating on me.”, shouted Beau in front of everyone in the main hall. He caught Suzy making love to James the previous night.

“Come on. It was just about one night. Don’t be insane. We are meant to be together. James’s just a sidepiece.” Said Suzy shoeing no signs of shame or remorse.

“What the heck do you think you are saying! Do you have any idea what you did to me? You broke my trust…. You cheated on me. I loved you Suzy.”

“So do I. And that’s it. I just slept with James for one night and that’s it. What’s wrong in that? After all I still love you.”

“Just leave me right now. We are over. Nothing’s left. Get lost.”, said Beau with heavy voice.

“What!! Are you insane? Have you lost all your senses? You’re leaving me for this shitty reason. You’re never gonna find someone like me.”

“Exactly. That’s the point. I don’t want anyone like you and for the sake of god just leave me alone.”

“Fine. I’m going. Enjoy you life. You asshole!!!.”

She left the hall and headed towards the main door. Within few minutes the hall was empty. Only Beau was standing there devastated. He had loved Suzy so much that he was not able to bear her betrayal.

Not much far from the hall Ava was standing watching Beau silently. She was not able to see Beau so devastated. She went near him.

“Hey!”

“Hey!”, said Beau silently sobbing.

“Are you alright?”

“Yup…………”

Ava gave Beau a blank stare. Beau leaned towards Ava’s shoulder and started crying.

“No, I’m not. Suzy cheated on me. I loved her so much but she betrayed me. You know what she meant to me and now her betrayal has broken my heart.”, said Beau.

Beau and Ava shared a special bond of friendship for 6 years. They both have known each other since they were 11. Apart from Paige if Ava could trust anyone, it was Beau. Maybe that’s the reason she fell for him.

“Are you sure that she cheated on me? Maybe she is framed.”

“I’ve have been following her for a month. She has cheated on me with 6 different guys.”

“Then just leave her. She doesn’t know what she has lost. Move on.”

“But how?”

“I know it’s hard but try to indulge yourself in other activities. Give yourself sometime. Explore yourself.”

“Please help me out Ava. I’m so lost.”

“Come on don’t be a crybaby. Stand up. Lets go home. I’ll cook you pasta. Then we can play scrabble. Come on hurry now!”

The next day…

In the morning Ava told Paige about Beau and Suzy’s breakup.

“That bitch cheated on him! How mean…. She deserves hell”, Paige cried out.

“Leave her right now. The main thing is Beau is heartbroken. I can’t see him like this. Help me out Paige. How can I cheer him up.”

“Maybe you can win him. You can mend his broken heart.”

“Don’t talk rubbish. This is not even possible. And I don’t want to end our friendship.”

“Maybe it’s a new start”, said Paige with a huge smile on her face.

“Let’s see….”
