~Trigger Warning~
Homophobic language, excessive alcohol consumption and implied depression
When Logan had arrived home, he discovered within moments that he had been right about their personalities switching whilst he was out. Stood on the doorstep, feet tapping against the ground the yelling began before Logan had the chance to completely walk up the driveway, screams in his face about how stupid he had been to stay out so long before being shoved indoors and having the door slam behind him.
To say the next couple of days were hell would be probably about accurate. Demanding that he improve himself and his application for college, practice test after essay after piles of work to be completed were handed to him one after the other. Food was restricted - his appearance they claimed - and so by the time he actually managed to drag himself towards school he was exhausted, hoping the concealer he had found covered the bags just enough to not draw attention. He was also starving, taking more food then he normally would and shoved it into his bag before rushing out so that they couldn't throw another thing at him to complete.
Having hidden in his room essentially the entire weekend, Roman was downing a half empty energy drink he had found on the kitchen table, pushing aside empty bottles as he climbed onto the counter and out the window.
To any other person who had slept and eaten as much as he had, they would have collapsed. The only thing keeping him going was the pack of granola bar he'd found hidden at the back of his bag, though where they had come from he had no idea because he'd certainly not been the one to buy them. Too expensive.
Chucking the wrapper of the final one into a trash can at the side of the hallway, Roman turned at a tapping on his shoulder.
"You came into school."
"Well, didn't really get much choice did I? Got to come in."
Pulling his bag back onto his shoulder as it began to slip down his arm, Roman shrugged towards Logan and looked back down the corridor, really wishing he hadn't.
As he turned, he watched as people moved their bodies away from him, the clicking of typing on screens and whispers of rumours combined to make a chorus of noise Roman really didn't want to hear. Even from here he could hear the comments being made. He'd only been in school ten minutes. Ten minutes. Couldn't they just leave him alone?
"Hey Lo."
Looking over, Logan slowed down his walking so that he was able to talk with Roman properly.
"Was.. was it bad when you first came out? Like, really bad?"
Eyes darting down towards the patterned floor, Logan releases a sigh, a combination of annoyance and anger and irritation mixing up inside of him. Really the only emotions he ever knew he had felt.
He most certainly wasn't oblivious to what Roman was going through at that moment. With him it had been different; he went from nothing to nothing and really a couple extra words to deflect was barely anything. Roman, on the other hand, had actually fallen from somewhere, and quite a height at that. These people had practically worshipped the ground he walked on and now they cursed it.
"It will be different for you. Each person has individual experiences."
"Yeah. Yeah I guess."
Biting his bottom lip, Roman moved his eyes around the hallway, quickly looking away again as he came to the conclusion that it was not a good idea.
"You soon learn to ignore them. It may not sound like advice but instead take it as a comfort."
"Can you really find comfort when people hate your very existence?"
