The next day I awoke to the sun hitting my face and a knock at the door. I quickly got up trying not to wake Isabel to answer. Isabel was really sad last night afterward, she tried not to show it, but it was apparent. She wanted her love with her, and that was not possible. I opened the door and was met by Francis with his head down.

"Francis!" I nearly yelled walking out of the room.
"Where did you go last night, I could not find you," I said worriedly.
"Can we talk somewhere in private?"
"Of course," I smiled and led him to my study.
Once we arrived, I closed the door and locked it.
"What happened?" I asked as we took a seat.
"That man from last night. He followed me around all night, he was probably trying to see if we would meet up again. Arthur, I have a bad feeling about that man," Francis said, worried. I had never seen him this paranoid before.

There was a sudden loud bang at the door, causing both of us to turn.
"King Arthur and Prince Francis, open up," I heard some guards yell from the outside. We both stopped, shocked.
"What will we do, Arthur" Francis almost shouted.
"Come with me," I pulled him and went up to the wall and opened it showing a secret entrance.
"This leads to my bedroom; I must alert Isabel before we flee," I said worriedly. Francis looked extremely confused but followed behind me.

Once I closed the door and locked it, we heard a loud crash. They probably knocked the door down.
I pulled Francis, and we walked to the entrance to my room. It sounded quite meaning Isabel was safe. I opened the door quickly and ran to lock the door to the bedroom. Isabel started to wake up and was soon frightened seeing both of us.
"Isabel....they are after Francis and me; we will need to flee," I said starting to change into clothes and grab a few things (like my box of letters Francis wrote to me)
"Are you serious?!" She said, worried. Francis was extremely confused and looked as if he had a lot of questions.

"Isabel, please be safe. I want you to make the law as you planned." I said seriously.
"It is not safe for us here; we will be put to death for my stupidity, so please.... do what needs to be done," Isabel nodded at my words and quickly pushed us into the secret entrance once a loud bang was heard.
"I promise Arthur, I will do as you say," she said nearly crying as she pushed us in. I shut the door and locked it as we heard the other door get busted open.

"Your majesty, we have been notified that your husband has committed adultery and homosexuality. We are required to take the king in and go forth against the church," one of the guards spoke as I continued to listen in.

"Is there proof of such a statement," Isabel argues.
"No, but there is a word," the guard stuttered.
"Ahhh, You will believe a silly rumor of the king, I see. Now where your head lay in this kingdom," Isabel argues angrily.
Francis and I looked at each other, hoping it worked.
"Your majesty, the king and Sir Francis have not been seen since we came to get them; they seem pretty guilty for fleeing," the guard said, causing Isabel not to say much.
"Unless there is proof of this rumor, I will not allow this behavior. You will stop this stupidity and obey my orders!" Isabel yelled.
"Yes....your highness, I understand, but these orders are from the church......" the guard tried to explain. This meant there was nothing Isabel could do unless she passed that law. And who knows when that would be.
"We have to go now; this tunnel leads outside of the kingdom, to the woods, in a cottage," I looked at Francis and held his face.

"We could live there as long as we wanted to, or needed to ....together. Just you and I" I smiled at him and kissed his cheek.
He smiled at me brightly as we ignored that we needed to leave.
"That will be a dream come true," he smiled. I grabbed his hand and pulled him to follow me as we ran and continued running, soon escaping the kingdom into the woods.
"It is this way," I pointed into the woods.
"There are many things there that we could use to survive."
"But, mon Cher, would anyone find us?"
"Not at all...I am the only one who knows of this place" I smiled at him. I held his hand as he realized we would be safe.

"It will be fine now," I smiled at him.
We continued to walk for what felt like two hours until we finally reached the cottage in safety.
"It is very secluded," Francis said, looking around. The cottage was smack in the middle of the woods, going closer to the kingdom of wales.
"I wish this could have been an option before." Francis smiled.
"I could not leave without marrying and leaving an heir to the throne. Now that Isabel will be in charge, she will change the kingdom for the better, and hopefully, she will succeed in having an heir...." I admitted.

Francis looked at me with steam of jealousy flowing out of his eyes.
"Succeeded? Already?" Francis said, shocked.
"You know damn well I had no choice, plus.... it was not like what you think. I did it separately," I said, looking away as I opened the door to the cottage. Francis laughed in realization.
"She must have been disappointed," he laughed.

"Not at all..... she was glad, for she too had a lover," I told.
He finally realized everything. And now grew aware.
"A lover? Wow," he said as he looked around the warm cottage. His eyes grew with happiness seeing the place.

"Yeah, her lover was the Princess of Belgium," at my words, he gasped.
"What are the odds that the most gayest people on earth would have to marry someone they do not love," he laughed, making me angry.
"I am not gay!" I yelled. He started laughing and pulling me closer.
"Oh really? I doubt that. In fact, maybe I should take you to make up for your incident last night," he laughed, and I pushed him away.
"Like hell," he laughed at me, but this time it was different; the laugh was of relief and love. His laugh put me at ease. So far, we were to be safe for as long as we needed......hopefully.
