The next morning I wake up in a terrible mood after yesterday's happenings, but it'll only get worse from here. It all starts when I get to the cafe and run into the person I want to see the least.

"G-Good morning Lucy."

"M-morning Natsu."

After our awkward greeting, I sit down at the counter, leaving a seat between us.

"Hm, what's this?" Mira tilts her head curiously, having already noticed the strange mood in the air.

"What's, What?" I ask in reply, trying to avoid the explanation like the plague.

Levy walks in, boasting in a cheerful mood, "Huh? Is it me or does it feel gloomy in here."

And in unison Natsu and I answer with, "it's just you!" Natsu looks surprised but then hangs his head. His reaction the same as mine.

"Well, whatever." Levy sits down between us and orders her breakfast. I follow with mine next, as Natsu sips on his coffee.

"By the way, Lucy, you had a call from your father last night. I wrote down the message." Mira slides a small piece of paper across the counter in front of me.

It reads:

Lucy, it's Dad. If you could return my call. I have something important to talk to you about.

'Just great, more bad news.. well not today. Dad.' "Thanks Mira." I say crumbling the note up and sticking it in my bag.

While I'm eating my breakfast, Levy leans over against my shoulder. "So are you going to call him back?"

"Of course not-"

However, before I can finish what I'm about to say. My phone rings, the name that comes up on the screen is, Michelle. One of my fathers maid's daughter. 'Oh?'

She's a little younger than me, so we grew up together. We were practically like sisters, up until my mother's passing and my happy life turned upside down.

"Um, Excuse me.." I say, getting up from the counter and walking over to the sofa. I sit down and answer the phone.

"This is Lucy."

"Hello, Miss. sorry to disturb you at work, if I am.. however-"

Michelle goes on to tell me that my father has been sick for quite a while now, and that he's passed away this morning. My breath catches in my throat. I continue the conversation the best I can. I'm utterly shocked, completely lost and stunned. When I finish, I hang up and silently disappear to my room.

The next couple of days were a blur, I'd called out of work and sat in my room, looking through years of faded memories.

Though, today was the day of the funeral. Dressed in black, I walked through the lobby and past the cafe. Mira came running over out from behind the counter. "Here Lucy." She hands me a coffee and hugs me tightly.

I stayed long after the funeral service was over, where I placed a single rose on his headstone and then placing a bouquet in front of mother's.

After a brief stop at my old home, Virgo and Michelle  leaving along with me. Michelle would be going to stay with her now fiancé and Virgo would be starting as Fairy Hill's newest employee.

The taxi dropped Virgo off at Fairy Hills, we hugged Michelle good bye and wished each other luck. Loki waited to greet us, but before Virgo went to greet Makarov "Princess." Virgo slips a sealed envelope into my hands, clasping her hands around mine. "This has your father's last thoughts in it.. please read it when your ready."

Virgo steps away and bows, before turning and leaving with Loke. 'Father's last thoughts huh? Not tonight.. I'm not ready.'

Once I enter my room, I place the envelope on my desk and head to the shower. A nice warm bath is all I can think of right now.
