*BATIM - short for "Bendy and the Ink Machine"
Henry frantically slams the door shut, sweat rolling profusely down his face. His lungs burned as he gasped for air and his heart was thumping from adrenaline. He could hear the Demon groaning from the other side of the door. His sharp claws scrapped hard against the wood, causing a high pitched screech to sound in Henry's ears. Henry leans up against the wall, knees shaking. He was alive. His body was almost completely drenched in ink and he was scared out of his mind... But he was alive. Henry put his ear up to the door, listening to the Ink Demon's heavy breathing. He heard a quiet murmur and pressed his ear closer. "Henry..." Bendy moaned. Henry's eyes went wide. Ink seeped under the door and the sound of gentle sobs could be heard. His heart lurches, mind suddenly filling with happy memories of the cute little Dancin' Demon. Could it be..? His mind overwhelmed with sympathy, Henry goes to place a shaking hand on the door handle.
He grips onto the knob, but stops himself just in time. No, Henry. He shakes his head. This isn't the innocent cartoon you used to draw. Not anymore. "Henry..." Bendy chokes again between sobs. "Please, Henry..." He's a monster... Henry tells himself, biting his lip. Every logical thought in his mind was telling him to keep the door shut, yet he found his fingers curling around the door handle once more. He took a deep breath, clenched his eyes shut, and swung the door open.Henry opened one eye to look up at the looming Demon before him, but all he saw was empty space. The once tall, monstrous figure seemed to have melted, and in its place was a little black ball curled up at his feet, crying. It's body was rocked by sobs, and it shook like a leaf in a cold winter breeze. The crying stopped for a moment, and a small, black head with two curled horns unfurled from the heap, looking up at Henry. The white color of the toon's face was covered by dripping black ink that cascaded onto Henry's shoes. A white bow tie with splatters of ink could be seen just below his none existent neck. It was crooked and twisted from wear. Henry reached down, gently placing a hand on the shaking pile of ink. Bendy flinched, but after realizing Henry meant no harm, he relaxed. "Henry? Is that you?" Bendy's voice quivered softly. A small gloved hand reached up and touched Henry's hand. "I... I can't see you..." The glove was also tainted with black stains. "It's me, Bendy." Henry says softly, sitting on the ground. Bendy's hand shakes as he chokes on another sob. "I can't believe it... You're really here..?" Henry gently strokes Bendy's head, quietly humming to calm him down. The ink is slick and cold. "Why didja leave us, Henry? You have no idea what Joey..." His voice trailed off. "What he..." He inhaled sharply, body shaking. Henry hushed him and carefully pulled him into his arms. "Why? Why did...How could you?" Bendy pushes away from Henry's embrace, stumbling back. "You... You traitor!" Anger is beginning to grow in his tone. He points a shaking hand at him, teeth clenched. "You knew this would happen, didn't you? You just left us with Joey and hit the road, huh?" Henry puts up a hand, trying to calm him down. "Bendy, take it easy." Bendy chuckles, wiping the ink from his face. "You have no idea what we've been through."
Sorry for the abrupt ending!
I just wanted to pop in at the end to let you know what I have planned if I wrote this story. I actually planned to make this a sort of "choose your ending" story. For example: I would give the reader a choice, whether or not to open the door, and depending on what you chose, you would continue the story differently. (Each chapter would branch off into two other chapters, depending on what you chose) Granted, this would take a bit longer to write, but if you like it, let me know!
Thanks! ❤️
