(SAO/MM spoilers ahead?)
I wrote this story about a year ago. (I think?) Again, it wasn't really meant to be a fully fleshed out story, I just wrote it as a warm-up. I took inspiration from one of Yoosung's bad endings in Mystic Messenger, and it was heavily inspired by the scene in SAO where Asuda gets assaulted by her best friend, whose name I forget.
This story is... Pretty cringy. It escalated way too quickly, and I don't think I added enough detail to fully illustrate the scene. So! I hope you enjoy the cringe.
Mayumi turns toward the door. "Who is it?" she calls. "May! It's me!" Mayumi walks over to the door and opens it, the frightful face of Shoda meeting her. His shirt and pants are wrinkled, as if he threw on some old dirty garment in a hurry. "May! Are you ok?" He grabs her shoulders, his hands shaking. "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" She tilts her head, confused by Shoda's behavior. Shoda blinks for a moment before pulling her into a hug. "I'm sorry that this is so sudden... I just had to come... I..." He presses his face into her hair. Mayumi shakes her head and pushes Shoda away from her, searching his eyes. "What's gotten into you?" His eyes widen, and he reaches for her again, hands grasping at the air. "Please, my darling..." His voice seems so desperate, but Mayumi continues to back away. Why is he calling me that? "This isn't you. You're acting strange." Shoda stops and looks down, his black hair covering his eyes. He takes a step closer. "Please don't be afraid-" He is interrupted by a sharp knock at the door. "Mayumi? Are you home?" Before Mayumi can even utter a word, Shoda clasps his hands over her mouth, quietly shushing her. His voice sounds even more insane than before. "Sshh...You don't need him, Mayumi." He wraps one arm around her waist, firmly holding her to him. Mayumi struggles against his grip. She bites his hand, causing him to stumble back and let out a yelp of pain. "Mayumi..!" He acts as if he's been horribly betrayed. Mayumi grabs the door handle, but is pulled back when Shoda suddenly grabs her ankle. His eyes are wild with insanity. "Why are you doing this?? What is wrong with you!?" Mayumi screams.
Aaaand that's how it ends. I suppose I could finish it, but for now, I'll just leave it as it is.
