— In Larry's Room —
Sal sat on Larry's bed playing with his Gear Boy quietly waiting for Ashley to show up. They all usually hung out during the evening on friday nights but this night Todd had a date with his boyfriend Neil. Now they were just waiting for Ashley to come after babysitting her brother for a little bit.
"Ey Sally Face."
"What is it Larry Face?"
Sal looked up at Larry who was still busy with a new painting.
"You ever think of getting a girlfriend?"
The blue haired boy paused his game to look strangely at his best friend.
"...No? Not really? What's this about all of a sudden?"
The long haired teen shrugged his shoulders and wiped his hands on a nearby rag.
"Dunno man, just one of those 'thinking' nights. Just feeling some time of way I guess. Like we all spent fridays together as buds before, but now Todd's got himself someone and he's gone, plus Ash said before that she's got someone she's kinda interested in too."
The masked boy frowned and leaned back into his friend's pillows. He didn't like where this was going.
"And what about your longtime crush on Ash? It's been like two years man, you ever gonna tell her about how you feel?"
Sal winced and buried his face on the bed.
"No way dude. I'm fine with the way things are right now, and I'm not going to ruin that. Besides, what kinda girl would wanna date this?"
For emphasis, he lifted his head and pointed right at his mask.
"I don't think you give yourself enough credit, Sally Face."
Sal wanted to say more things to him, but couldn't say anything else because they heard a knock on Larry's door that led to the outside. Larry got up to let Ash in and said girl excitedly ran down the stairs to throw herself on Larry's bed, causing Sal to bounce up as well.
"Oh my god guess whaaaaat!"
"You finally agreed to take us to a Sanity's Fall concert!"
A pillow was launched at Larry's face at an intensity that caused him to fall right on his butt.
"Fuck off Larry. I'm talking about my new neighbors. The older guy, remember I told you his name's Jack? Well he's a really nice guy and all and seemed like a pretty friendly dude. He was kinda cute, but his siiiister!"
Suddenly Larry seemed to perk up as he scrambled to sit up eagerly. The thoughtful young man that was wiping his hands from painting was replaced by the usual best friend that Sal knew and loved. He was glad too, the questions he was asking made him feel incredibly uncomfortable.
"Well? C'mon, tell us. Is she hot?"
"A total BABE!"
The tall man's eyes widened with excitement until Ash pointed a finger right at his nose. She had a deadpan look on her face as she stared him down.
"But so out of your league! Sorry Lar Lar but you got no chance. Big heads up though, she can't talk."
Both boys looked at her with interest.
"Her brother said that bad stuff happened before and now she can't talk. She talks using a white board though. She probably doesn't have a lot of friends right now so I think we should all introduce ourselves next time."
