a/n:  I know I sometimes like to overdo how long my chapters are, but this one was too long so I had to split it in two.

Also CHAPTER 8 WILL BE POSTPONED FOR ONE MORE WEEK! Sorry, I never finished it before I left for vacation so there won't be a chapter next Wednesday!

— Sal's P.O.V —

I felt that things were...off.  It was a dream, that much I knew for sure, but it wasn't normal.  I wasn't in my own time, something in my gut just told me I wasn't.  I felt like a floating existence that was just in a space to observe.  There was something inside me that told me to just watch.  And that's what I going to do.

I looked at my surroundings.  It was a sunny afternoon, but it was like I was looking at everything through some kind of weird lens.  The sky was blue, but kind of tinged with some sort of yellowish filter.  Everything around me looked like it was affected by it.

There was movement to my side and when I turned my head I saw a young girl exit a red brick building surrounded by other kids. With surprise I realized that it was my high school, Nockfell High...at least that's what I thought at first.  This building was different.  It seemed newer, like it was just recently established.  Even the clothing that the teenagers wore looked older, kind of like something I saw in an old movie once when I was a kid.

Was I in the past right now?  But why?  I've never seen anything like this before that's for sure. It's like...I was living someone else's memories.

I get it now.  This was the past, and it seemed that I was looking at everything from someone else's eyes.

The girl that caught my eye earlier kept walking, and I followed behind her curiously.  There was nothing really remarkable about her so I didn't know why she was the focus of this memory.

Nockfell was more wooded in the past.  The girl walked along the edge of a heavily wooded area, books tucked to her chest innocently.  I was getting more and more confused as to why I was seeing this.

Soon I found out why.

A group of people cloaked in black emerged from the forest and surrounded the girl.  She was starting to panic as the group seemed to close in.  I ran to her, alarmed as the people brought out rope and masking tape, but I didn't know what I would do exactly.  Just as they wrapped the rope around her screaming form, the scene changed.

I blinked my eyes at the sudden darkness.  It took time for my good eye to adjust to the dim lighting in the new room I was in.

The room was lit only by torches for some weird fucking reason.  It looked like a small stone room, maybe even a dungeon.  I felt dread and agony in every wall of the place.  This wasn't right.  It didn't feel right.

Holy fuck I wanted to get out of this place fast.

There was chanting going on through a doorway, and even though I really didn't want to, I still went through it to find out what the hell was going on.

The sight made me want to throw up.

Cult members formed a circle surrounding what looked like a stone bench.  In the very center, with her arms and legs strapped down with iron chains...was a small girl.

Her tear stained face looked around wildly in fear.  Blood came out of her nose and mouth and the bruising around her face made my heart drop to my stomach.  Her body was littered with bleeding wounds, so much that I had to clench my eyes to avoid the nausea I was starting to feel.

This was fucked up.  This was so fucked up, but why was I seeing all this?

"Do it.  Do it Beatrice.  Punish the sinner."
