Morning finally arrived, I found Zoey on the couch as usual, but today she was deeply staring at her hands.
"Zoe? What're you doing?"
She looked over at me with complete shock.
"I can feel things." Despite looking so surprised, she spoke rather calmly.
"What?" I went over and sat next to her.
"Ali! I can actually feel and move things!" She said as she felt the couch, lifting up a pillow and holding it.
My eyes widened. "Holy shit! Really?"
She nodded excitedly. If she can do all this now, then does that mean?....
Just like the day I first saw her, I went to flick her forehead.
Zoey saw it coming. "Don't-!" She cut herself of as her hand grabbed my wrist to prevent my actions.
I felt her. I actually felt her hand on my wrist. Surely she felt me as well, because she immediately pulled her hand back in shock.
"Zoey! This is amazing!"
She stayed silent, her cheeks flushed.
"Wait. Are you like real now?" I asked.
She bit her lip and slowly shook her head. "I yelled at your neighbor earlier and they didn't acknowledge me."
"What? Then how? You know what never mind. This much is unbelievable within itself! Aren't you happy?"
She nodded giving me a smile. Zoey also seemed to have a look of hope in her eyes. Probably because there might be a chance she'll actually become real.
"Hug me."
I couldn't help but get caught off guard. "What?"
"You heard me. I said hug me. You've wanted to before, remember?" She replied simply.
I however, quickly grew embarrassed. "Well, yeah... but those times were different. I can't just hug you now."
"Why not?" She grew confused.
"Because that's weird. It's not the right time for that. I don't even hug my friends unless we just met after a while of not seeing eachother."
At this point, I was ready to come up with any excuse not to hug her. I don't know why I just feel.... weird at the thought of hugging her.
She shrugged. "Fine." Zoey suddenly launched herself at me, wrapping her arms around my neck. The impact causing me to fall back on the couch. Instinctively, I held onto her waist.
That's when time seemed to freeze. Or at least, I was frozen in place. My heart was racing so fast, I actually got a bit concerned.
Depite seeing her everyday in the same clothes, which I learned never actually got dirty, I never expected her to actually have a scent. A scent that smelt amazing by the way.
It was only then I realized my face was buried near her neck. I was so close, she had to feel my breath on her skin. If I moved any closer I'd be...
"Okay! That's enough of that!" I said as I pushed her off.
Since her arms were around my neck, when I pushed her off she lost her balance. Resulting in her quickly placing her hands down.... one on my thigh, the other next to my waist. If our faces weren't red before, they're on fire now.
Zoey looked at her hand, then up at me. The position we are in right now looks extremely dangerous. She's basically close to straddling me.
I then said the only thing I could muster in that moment. "You really are a pervert aren't you?"
