It was the next day and I looked everywhere for Zoey. I couldn't find her. I even went to Colby's house and asked him and Nikoda if they've seen her, to which they said no. Nikoda also explained to me what they did last night. At this point, I was panicking, and also feeling very guilty for yelling at Zoey. I drove all over town, several times. I checked every hotel, not that she had money, but still nothing. I gave up and went home. Hoping she'd show up.
I called Colby to tell him it was over. I wanted Zoey not him. I know, not the best way to break up with somebody and I may be doing this a little late, but I was so focused on finding Zoey, I didn't want to leave my apartment.
"Hello?" I heard him say.
I took a deep breath. "Colby, we need to break up."
"What? Why? Did I do something?"
"No, I'm sorry. I just don't feel the same about you anymore." I said as I sat on my bed.
"It's Zoey, isn't it?"
"W-what?"
"She makes you feel things? Listen, Ali. I'm not mad. I think it's great that you've found someone who you truly want to be with. I'm just sorry I wasn't that person for you. I hope we can still be friends at least."
I smiled. "God, Colby. You're too sweet. Thank you."
"Of course! Now go get your girl!" He laughed.
I hung up and began crying into my pillow. "If only I could find her.... Zoey, I'm so sorry.... I didn't mean what I said.... I was just angry.... and scared I was going to lose you..... but now look..... you're gone..... and it's all my fault....... it hasn't even been long and I already miss you.... please, come back to me..... I love you." I whispered.
"Sure, you say that now that I'm gone." I heard a familiar voice say in an annoyed tone. I sat up and looked towards the direction of the voice. Sure enough, there she was.
"Zoey!" I yelled.
Her eyes widened as if she thought I couldn't hear her. "Wait, you can see me again?" She shook her head. "Why am I even asking? Of course you can!"
Next thing I knew, she tackled me into the biggest hug I have ever received. I hugged her tight and buried my head into her neck.
"I'm sorry I told you to leave, but did you really have to?" I said quietly.
"I didn't have a choice. Before I knew it, I was back in the void. It's not like I actually left though, I was still watching you, you just couldn't see me. I was with you the whole time." She pulled away, situating herself on my lap. "I saw you running around like an idiot." She smirked.
I smiled and rolled my eyes. "Shut up. I was scared I lost you forever."
She held my face in her hands. "Well, I'm here now. Forever and always. You're stuck with me." She smirked and pulled me in for a kiss.
Things started to get very heated as she pushed me down onto my bed. She broke away for a moment. "I almost forgot..... I love you too." I felt her smile against my neck, and I returned it.
