Morana Nazarov was raised in a Soviet based organisation that trained and weaponised young Russian girls known as the Red Room. The extensive program was run and funded by the notorious secret government agency HYDRA who groomed these women to fight and eliminate any persons who posed a threat to the publication of their confidential whereabouts. The Red Room trained these women to go undercover and be unnoticed by any member of the opposing government agency known as SHIELD.
Morana Nazarov was adopted out of an orphanage and placed in the Red Room alongside 17 other girls including one Natalia Alianovna Romanova. Raised in a brutal environment filled with violence and death, Natalia and Morana became allies and friends. On their graduation day, all eighteen of the weaponised assassins were sterilised, preventing them from ever being able to reproduce. After the graduation, each girl is assigned to a post, Natalia being recruited to the KGB, changed her name to Natasha Romanoff and bore the alias Black Widow earning her a credible reputation. Morana, on the other hand, pledged her life to HYDRA, becoming their very own personal killer and science experiment. She was injected with numerous serums to enhance her ability as an assassin. Resulting in her new found control over the molecular structure of anything and everything she sees, including the human anatomy. She quickly rose through the ranks and earned the name Lynx, in reference to the deadly green spider that she personified as her powers exhibited the glow of green light.
With an ever increasing level of skill and accuracy, Morana was paired with the one and only Winter Soldier to become the most deadly dynamic duo known to mankind. The spent every waking hour with each other, training and familiarising themselves with each other, with their abilities and with their strength. Almost a decade later, they are the closest friends two master assassins could be, Morana often providing him with comfort after his ordeals with HYDRA and their brainwashing machine. They never failed a mission, they never got caught, the only clue they left behind at every crime scene was a small L cut into the victim's right cheek, signifying that the famous Lynx had struck once again. But their latest mission was a little different, not that either of them knew it. All they had to do was kill Steve Rogers.
But HYDRA wasn't counting on the past experiences that the seemingly emotionless assassins had for their missions. Morana coming face to face was Natasha Romanoff, her childhood friend and the Winter Soldier being exposed to his best friend from 70 years ago, that began to tear down all the brainwashing HYDRA had done to remove the memory of Steve Rogers. SHIELD will stop at nothing to bring in the HYRDA agents and convince them to join their side, and as SHIELD crumbles from within, Captain America, Black Widow, Falcon, Nick Fury and Maria Hill are determined to save the Winter Soldier and Lynx from themselves and from HYDRA.
