"It's just for a couple of days Buck." Morana continued to throw things in bag while Bucky sat on the bed watching her. When Fury had dropped her back at the safehouse, Bucky was worried sick and was getting ready to go and look for her.
"I just don't get why you're doing this." Morana stopped at looked at him.
"I'm doing this so maybe we don't have to be criminals for the rest of our lives. I can get in front of this, maybe even do some good to fix the bad." Bucky looked at her sadly. He understood why she had to go but he didn't want her to leave him.
"Besides, I like beating people up and this way I can do it legally." Bucky laughed at her.
"Who are you going after, HYDRA?" He asked. Morana nodded.
"Yeah, remember Grant Ward? He was one of John Garrett's prodigies." Bucky thought about it and nodded slowly.
"Yeah I think so, maybe. What's the mission?" Morana continued to shove clothes into her bag.
"Ward has an agent named Skye, she has a lot of SHIELD intel on a drive that Fury believes Ward wants, only thing is, she encrypted it, that's why he took her. I need to get the intel and get Skye and if I get to kill a few people in my way then that's a bonus." She zipped up her bag and lifted it off the bed. She had her suit on once again, all her weapons tucked in their usual spot and her dark curly hair in a ponytail. The only difference being the lack of HYDRA patches on her arms, she had ripped them off days ago and burnt them to ashes. Her phone buzzed on the table and she grabbed it. A text from Maria Hill lit up the screen, letting her know that it was time to go. She had sent through the location of the plane Ward was currently habiting so Morana could portal in. Bucky stood up from the bed and walked over to her.
"Be careful okay, I still need my partner." Morana smiled and Bucky gave her an awkward hug before smiling down at her. Morana lifted her hands up in front of her and concentrated on the co-ordinates Maria had sent her. Green sparks appeared in the air and not long after, the SHIELD plane's garage could be seen.
"Kick some ass for me." Morana laughed.
"You know I will." And she walked through the portal, watching as it closed up behind her, leaving Bucky in the safety of Fury's protection.

She dumped her bag on the ground and stood in between a SHIELD SUV and a red 1962 corvette. She waited, knowing Ward would have seen the energy surge on his radar and come running down all guns ablazing. She waited, with her feet apart, shoulders back, arms crossed and a stoney look on her face. She heard footsteps making their way to the stairwell and waited. Ward came out a second later, gun ready to shoot before he saw the woman standing there.
"Nazarov?" He asked. His gun lowered but stayed loaded and ready to be fired.
"Ward." She said.
"The hell are you doing here?" He asked. She watched him on the balcony.
"Didn't you hear? I work for SHIELD now." He narrowed his eyes at her.
"You, Morana Nazarov, Lynx, work for SHIELD." He said, unconvinced.
"Yep. I thought it was time I stepped out of the shadows, and into the light." Her words resonated with Ward, realising she was undercover for HYDRA. He put the safety back on his gun and slid it back into his waistband.
"Ward?" A voice came. The pair's attention shifted to the woman who came out of the same hall Ward did.
"What is it-" She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw Morana.
"Oh my god." She said. Morana presumed that this girl was Skye.
"You're Lynx. You're HYDRA, we have to call Coulson." She tried to run back to the cockpit but Ward caught her arm and held her back.
"Skye, Nazarov is on our side. She's SHIELD." Skye glared at Morana who was yet to move from her spot.
"Yeah, right, and I'm Santa Claus." She said sarcastically. Morana smirked at her.
"Wanna see my badge?" She spoke up, flashing the SHIELD badge Fury had given her before she left the base. Skye didn't look convinced.
"You probably stole that."
"Well what about this lanyard. It's got my name and everything." She then pulled out her lanyard and Skye looked conflicted. She didn't say anything more, instead she chose to scoff and walk away, this time Ward let her. Morana leant down and picked up her bag and made her way up the stairs to where Ward was still standing.
"I'll just go find my room." She said smugly, trailing down the hallway towards the open space in the middle of the plane. She dumped her stuff in the room next to where Skye was sitting. She waited for Ward to walk past, on his way to the cockpit before she opened her bag and grabbed out a notepad and pen, she slid it across the floor to Skye and she picked it up. Morana took out her own and began writing on it.
'Don't say anything.' She wrote. She knew the pad was working when she heard a small gasp come from the room next to her. Ink began to form on the page.
'What the hell is this.' It wrote.
'This is an untraceable way to communicate so Ward doesn't get tipped off.'
    'What about Ward?'
'You know that Ward is HYDRA. It's why I'm here. I really am SHIELD. Coulson sent me after he received your little message back at Providence.'
'How do I know I can trust you. You're HYDRA too.'
'I have a pretty compelling reason to work for SHIELD. As for the trust thing, you don't. But I'm your only way out of this.' there was a moment when nothing appeared on the page and Morana thought maybe she had ripped it up.
'What's the plan?' Black ink revealed itself on the page once more.
'Ward thinks I'm HYDRA. We need to keep it that way, it's the only way that he'll let me stay here and actually speak to me. I'm a SHIELD agent undercover as a SHIELD agent that's undercover as a HYDRA agent.'
    'That made literally no sense.'
'I'm a supervillain working for the good guys, none of this makes any sense. But you need to trust me. At the very least, trust Coulson's judgement.'
'Okay.' The ink on the pad disappeared, meaning Skye had turned it off. At least now Morana could get onto phase two of the mission.
