(Glorybringer) Alone in the dark.

The Announcement (Not edited)

Glory looked at all the faces on the meeting platform. It was a newly built place where the Nightwings and Rainwings could gather, have parties, and assemblies, things like that. Glory also had a tribal meeting here once a month. (BTW there are 18 months in WOF Dragon years, so 1 1/2 human years is 1 dragon year, according to Wikipedia.) She looked to her right at Starcatcher, who she would put her faith in for a few days, and to her left was Deathbringer, with a small frown on his face. Once he noticed her looking his way through, he smiled. His smile brought her new confidence and she started her speech, "Welcome, as you all know, I, Queen Glory, have been looking for a new bodyguard. To not permanently" She added that last part on because some Rainwings were looking at her in horror. Continuing she said " Replace Deathbringer, who is my current bodyguard. Starcatcher, please step forward." Starcatcher stepped readily forward as if she was getting what she had wanted and been working for all her life. "Do you promise to protect me with your life."

"Yes." Said Starcatcher confidently.

"Alright," continued Glory, hating long speeches but knowing it was needed, "will you take this job with importance greater than your life?"

"I will."

"Then you are now officially my new bodyguard. And with these many witnesses, I agree to the terms I have allowed her to now do, and un-allow Deathbringer, my former bodyguard, to these 'special treatments'. Such as sleeping in the palace, free-roam of the palace and royal gardens, and spending the night in my room. " Glory looked at Deathbringer " Do you disagree with these terms"

Deathbringer sucked inwards and said "I-I, no." Looking down Deathbringer frowned. It sounded as if this was for more than a just few days. Not wanting to look weak in front of the whole of the tribes. He brought his head back up.

Glory did not let his behavior go unnoticed but she continued with her speech. ending it in an orderly fashion. After every dragon left after voicing there concerns Glory finally got some free time to go berry picking with Deathbringer as he planned a few days ago. At the time Deathbringer had jokingly teased Glory about how it was a date after she agreed to free her schedule, and he had been surprised when she only laughed and agreed. But now she couldn't find him anywhere. She looked in all his favorite places. And all her own. Beginning to lose hope Glory flew into the jungle with Starcatcher close on her tail. The last place she was going to look made some sort of sense. Getting nearer Glory found the dark hole in the rock. The feeling of wrongness made her uneasy but didn't seem to bother Starcatcher. Taking a step inside the tunnel Glory called out Deathbringers name "Deathbringer!!" Glory was getting worried sick. Until she heard a response and talons scraping the ground " Glory?" Came Deathbringers voice. "Could you please go." Asked Queen Glory quietly to Starcatcher. She nodded and left understanding they need to be alone.

"Glory?" Asked Deathbringer unbelievingly, " Deathbringer!" She called running into the shadows. While running at full speed Glory hit a black silhouette. It started laughing and caught Glory in its wings. " Why did you leave?" She asked wonderingly. "I-I needed some time alone to think. " Responded Deathbringer truthfully. Glory nodded and looked at the night sky. "It's beautiful here at night." Deathbringer looked up and for the first time really understood why the Rainwings love it here so much. " Yes, it is." Smiling he put a wing over Glory and she fell asleep in his wings.

So so SO sorry this has taken so long and this chapter is so short :(

I've been really busy and had writer's block, I will continue to update this book more frequently. please forgive me.
