Matty's POV
"Ah this is going to be fun." I say to myself a little too loudly inside our van. We were on our way to Will's wedding, actually I know we're already late.
Will is getting married to his college girlfriend Dionne. Who we all think is a little bit too friendly around guys, but it's Will's day and he is our good buddy so we'll try to keep out of trouble for him. Behave if we must, try being the operative word here.
Funny, how I remember one time when Dionne hit on me one night when we were all drunk. I kept most of the details of that to myself because I do feel that Will would have his heart broken if I told him, if he does really have deep love for the lass. I can't really tell.
It happened at a house party, a fellow musician was celebrating because they finally got signed by a label and as always Will brought her along. A joint was being passed around because they were all very generous people. Beer and whiskey kept flowing and everyone was having the time of their lives.
As we were all dancing, a hand grabs my arm out of nowhere and pulls me aside. She led me to one room that was dark and then hands started to grab at me immediately giving me no time to think. All that alcohol and drugs might really have numbed our senses because the next thing I hear is her telling me that she had wanted me ever since Will introduced me to her and that she thinks she loves me and not Will. I told her, with a slur, that I do not share the same feelings but she still kept at it and tugged my shirt off. A woman on a mission, nuff' said.
When I woke up a few hours later I put on my clothes and left. That's what I always do, what I am good at, not holding onto potential trouble.
And after that we never really got reacquainted again.
"C'mon move your bum, Matty, let's go." George says as he opened the door and jumped out of the van motioning for me to follow on.
Good thing Will have foreseen that we were going to be late and told us to use the back gate so as not to attract too much unwanted attention.
I'll admit the place looks spotless and tasteful, the house was massive. Will really must love Dionne to buy her a lavish house, no a castle, I thought.
And as Ross finally found vacant chairs for us to occupy I heard the minister say the well known question everyone is itching to hear answered.
"And do you Will Thomas take Dionne Mitchell to be your lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold, as long as you both shall live?"
