Luke

I'd never talked to Agatha before the roof incident, and I'd never wished to. Yet, here I sat on my bed with her watching her favourite show. I had my feet on my pillow, laid out on my bed, and Agatha's legs were pressed against my bedroom wall (by the window), our heads both on the same cushion. I held her hand in mine, fiddling with her fingers. They weren't much smaller then mine, but they still looked frail. Her entire body, and everything about her, was frail. But, it was a good thing to me, it meant I had more of a reason to stay by her side, and more of a reason to be so protective of her. I don't think we were even bothered about the show at this moment, we were too busy talking about our problems, and Agatha was giving her thoughts on her dad's affair. I listened to her intently, nodding at each thing she said. I wasn't even listening to her words as much, I was more focused on how unhappy she looked, and how disgusted she looked as she spoke about her dad, and how her voice constantly broke every so often.

"Are you sure you two aren't in a relationship?" My mum piped up as she stood by the doorway. I gave her a warning as Agatha laughed. She swivelled her legs round, so she was now sat up. I propped myself up, my arms spread out behind me to keep me balanced.

"Mum," I groaned. "Can't you knock?" She had the tendency to walk in my room whenever she pleased, most of the time without knocking.

"I was just going to offer you some Capri-Suns, Luke, don't be rude," she gave me the same look, and I rolled my eyes. I laid back down on the bed and Agatha remained seated against the wall. Agatha accepted the drink, whilst my mum threw it onto my chest, raising her eyebrows at me.

"Mum, we're 17," I attempted to make myself seem cool, in hopes that Agatha wouldn't think down of me.

"In this house, mister, you're still my 12 year old baby," I cringed at the word baby. "Now, drink your juice and invite your lovely girlfriend downstairs to meet the rest of your family," I groaned again at my mums words. If Agatha thought my mum was embarrassing, which she probably didn't, then wait until she met the others.

"She's not my girlfriend," I called after her.

I took her finished pouch in my hand, waving for her to follow me downstairs. She looked nervous, and awkward, so I didn't want her staying for too long around them. I guided her into the lounge, where my dad and brothers' sat, as we both stood by the door.

"Guys, this is Agatha Mason," she gave them a small wave. "That's my dad, Andrew, my brother, Ben, and my other brother, Jack," they waved to her, smiles on their faces. They looked at her, then to me, and back to her. My mum coughed. "And Liz, my mum."

"Are you both in a-" I cut my brother off before he could finish the most asked question.

"No, we are just friends," I sighed. "We're going back upstairs to carry on watching AHS," and I took Agatha's wrist leading her back to my room.

We got back in, and I resumed the show. Agatha had returned to her previous position, her legs against my wall, and I laid at her side. She let out a sigh, taking out her phone which had recently vibrated. Her breathe suddenly hitched.

"What is it?" I asked concerned. She held her phone tightly before sitting up, me doing the same, reading through the text again. "Aggy?"

"It's my mum," her voice was close to breaking. "My grandad," she inhaled deeply. "He, um, passed," her hair covered her face, as her head was lowered.

"Aggy," she slowly looked up to me, and I pushed her hair behind her ear. "It's okay to cry," I reassured her. "You don't have to be strong right now, I'm here for you," she collapsed into my lap, her body shaking vigorously and her cries muffled. "I'm just going to close the door," I stood up and shut my door. Agatha's back was now pressed to the wall, her legs clutched to her chest, her face buried in her knees. I sat down beside her, draping my arm around her shoulders and she rested her head on my shoulder.
