"HEY DISSAPEAR WHERE GO?"

Your face was still red as you held tight to your paper, walking back into Izuku's gym class. "GONE."

His green curls bounced as he shook his head at you, smiling. "WHY RED?"

Your hand reached up to touch at your face, taking notice of the heat that eminated from you. Your blush worsened. "FRIEND MADE."

"FRIEND? WHO?"

You held out the paper, letting him read it. You couldn't help but giggle as his eyes widened at the name. "HERO."

He started speaking now, his mouth moving too fast to read. He got like this when something exciting happened, and as much as it annoyed you to not be able to understand, you knew it was typical and couldn't get mad at him.

You both trailed behind his class, you watching him and trying to decipher what he was spewing. "SLOW." You closed your eyes for a second, letting your body guide you, before colliding with something.

Your eyes snapped open and you locked gazes with green eyes. Izuku kept walking, not even noticing you were gone. "SORRY! NOT MEAN!"

The girl in front of you blinked quickly, green eyes wide as she brushed her pink dreads away from her face. "ASL?"

You paused, not having met anyone in Japan who also knew American Sign Language. "YES."

A joyful look crossed her face, "ME NAME MEI HATSUME!"

"NAME (y/n) MIDORIYA." You smiled widely, seemingly having made fast friends with her.

"YOU HAVE AIDS?" She gestured to her own ears then, alerting you of the small cochlear implant behind her ear.

You shook your head. "MONEY MUCH."

You saw her squeal, her eyes wide as she gripped at the goggles that resided on top of her pink hair. "I SUPPORT HERO. I MAKE YOU AIDS."

You blinked, rubbing your eyes quick, staring at her. Hearing aids? You had barely considered the idea, but to have someone offer to make you some was a miracle. "SURE YOU?"

She nodded excitedly, grabbing your hand and dragging you into the closest workroom. Inventions were scattered across the counters and floors, Mei clearing a desk with a sweep of her arm. She dragged a chair over, gesturing for you to sit down.

Mei rummaged around on a desk before turning back to you and popping a pair of headphones on your ears. "HAND RAISE WHEN HEAR."

You nodded, listening. It was silent for a minute or two, before you were faintly able to hear a sound in your right ear. Raising the hand, a louder sound appeared in your left ear. You raised your left hand, and Mei removed the headphones from your head.

"HAVE DONE TWO WEEK. CLASS GO NOW."

You stood, nodding at her. "THANK YOU."

"WELCOME." She smiled excitedly at you, before ushering you out of the room and into the hall.

You climbed from the shower, wrapping a towel around yourself and making your way to your bedroom. You shut the door, dropping the towel and getting changed into your pajamas, picking up your phone. Hizashi's number stared back at you, inserted to the new message box. You hadn't found the guts to send anything yet.

Letting out a sigh, your thumbs moved across the screen to type out a message before pressing send.
To: Mic -Hey, it's (y/n).'

You tucked your phone into the waistband of your pajamas, going back to the bathroom to brush your teeth and comb the tangles from your hair. Returning to your room, you climbed into bed and checked your phone again.

From: Mic -Hey (y/n)! Didn't think you would take me up on my offer!

You smiled at his response.
To: Mic -Who would I be to not respond to my first real friend at UA?

From: Mic- I'm your first friend?

To: Mic- Yeah, is that a bad thing?

You rested your phone down on your chest, a bright smile dancing on your face. Your first friend here, and he was already so sweet to you. You hadn't expected your hearing loss to gain you many friends, but it didn't seem to phase him in the slightest.

Your phone buzzed and you lifted it again.

From: Mic - Not at all! I'm glad to be your first friend. How you doin?

To: Mic - Alright. Kinda tired, not used to being around this many people at once during a day 😓

From: Mic - Hey, it's understandable. I gotta go right now, radio show to deal with, but I'll see ya tomorrow

To: Mic - Yeah! See you Hizashi!

From: Mic - See ya (y/n)

You plugged in your phone on your bedside table, retracting your arm and staring at it. A goopy feeling sat in your chest, something happy mixed with something else. You didn't know what it was, but you knew that he made it happen and that you didn't want it to go away.
